AWESOME UPDATE: OWNERS HAVE BEEN FOUND! Huge thank you to our whole nursing team and their amazing detective work, owners on holiday halfway around the world, what a fantastic result for this lovely cat! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

UPDATE: As we mentioned yesterday, we immediately started treating this lovely cat when we discovered the paralysis ticks after a member of the public dropped her off to us. Thanks to early intervention, she is looking much better today!

She will still require treatment and hospital care over the weekend and we are still trying to contact her owners.

Once she is all better, we have a legal obligation to place her in the care of the council to re-home her if she is not re-united with her owners. The council will hold her for a further 14 days before making her available for adoption.

If she is your cat or you know who she belongs to, please contact us on 0299839494 straight away. If you are claiming her, you will need to be able to tell us her microchip number, the name of her old owner or provide proof of ownership with photos of her.

We would like to say a huge thank-you to the St Ives community for your support and confidence in our team to provide the highest standard of care to all animals, regardless of their situation 🥰🥰🥰

We started the morning by bringing in some yummy treats to celebrate Vet Nurse Day today, and we had planned on posting some cute photos of our nurses, however it seems the paralysis ticks of St Ives had other ideas!

Our amazing nurses were too busy doing an outstanding job of looking after A LOT of very sick patients to take any photos today, but we still wanted to write a post acknowledging the awesome work they do!

The pets of St Ives are lucky to have such a dedicated team of nurses working tirelessly behind the scenes keeping them safe and healthy. We love you guys!

This is also a good time to remind our pet-parents to please keep on top of tick treatment for your babies! Those horrible little guys are out in full force!

No dog is too big or small for our team! Dr Sally and our nurse Viv looked after the tiny Nancy during her de-sexing today, as well as the gentle giant Winnie for her dental. Both were exceptional patients and we wish them a speedy recovery!

TICK SEASON IS HERE... But did it ever really leave??

We have seen a steady stream of patients with paralysis ticks over the past 12 months, which is scary stuff when our poor pet parents think the danger is over in the winter! And now that the sun is coming out, those horrible ticks will be out in even greater numbers.

But some good news! There is now an annual injection for our doggy friends that prevents against fleas and ticks all year round, giving us one less thing to try and remember! It takes 7 days to become fully active, and we want to make sure all our patients are fully covered for ticks at all times, so give us a call on 02 9983 9494 to book your dogs injection before their current coverage runs out!

And there are still promotions running for those who would prefer to stick with their current tick prevention routine (and our lovely kitty-cat owners of course!) Have a chat to reception about all the ways we can save you money with free products including Bravecto chews & spot-on treatments, Nexgard Spectra, Revolution Plus and Simparica Trio!

Meet the adorable Andy!

No one wants to be in hospital on their birthday, but nothing stops Andy's tail wagging! He's recovering wonderfully from his TPLO (cruciate ligament surgery) yesterday and is having a wonderful birthday today enjoying as many tummy rubs and kisses as we can dish out! His smile as he gets cuddles from our receptionist Kelly says it all 🥰

Many of you may recognise Andy as a regular visitor to our clinic and to the bakery next door, so he would appreciate your congratulations on being such a brave and GOOD BOY!
