When you still look cute after a big vomit 💁🏻‍♀️✨ Reggie ate a some neurofen, including the packaging, which is toxic to dogs. His owners quickly brought him down so we could induce vomiting (a lot of it).

Today is going to be a scorcher ☀️ Keep your pets cool by bringing them indoors in the air conditioning, using fans, cooling mats, frozen treats, ice in their water bowls and absolutely do not exercise them in this heat. If you notice any signs of heat stroke such as excessive panting, vomiting/diarrhoea, excessive drooling or collapse contact your vet immediately.

☀️NSW Heat Stroke Warning! ☀️🐾

With temperatures set to soar, it's important to be aware of the dangers of heat to pets.

Heat stroke is a serious, life-threatening condition that can cause permanent damage to your pet’s internal organs. The window between the first signs and a critical emergency is very short, so knowing what to look for is essential.

Signs of heat stroke include: Lethargy, excessive panting or difficulty breathing & Sudden collapse.

While all dogs are at risk, brachycephalic breeds (like bulldogs and pugs) are particularly vulnerable. Their short snouts make it harder for them to cool down by panting, so extra caution is needed on hot or humid days like today.

How to keep your dog safe: Avoid exercise during the heat, keep your dog indoors in a cool, shaded area & ensure there’s ALWAYS fresh water available.

If you suspect your pet is overheating or suffering from heat stroke, contact or bring them directly to Emergency 24/7 at any SASH location.

Today marks the end of an era for our manager, Amy who is flying the coup and leaving us after 18 long years 😭😭. We wish Amy the best of luck in the next chapter of her life, we will miss her greatly.

Both girls are super playful and love to zoom around jumping on things and chasing each other. They would love a friend to play with. They are a little shy initially but they every week they are getting more used to be being picked up and cuddled. They have very loud purrs. These little girls have been here for a few weeks now. We would love them to go to their forever homes.

We have had so many phone calls today for last minute appointments and we would love to accomodate everyone but there is only so much we can fit in one day. V***n is a 9 week old tortoiseshell domestic girl. She has stunning ginger markings on one side of her face and chest. She was found in an abandoned house and some kind people had been feeding her and getting her used to humans. She has been with us for the past 2 weeks and is now ready for her new furever home. She is a little shy initially but once she warms up to you she’s all about the head scratches and purrs.
