Grooming your dog in winter is important for many reasons 🐶

🐾 Maintain a healthy coat: Regular grooming helps keep your dogs coat in good condition, even during winter. Brushing and regular visits to your groomer will help remove loose hair, prevent matting, and promote better air circulation through the coat, which is essential for insulation and hygiene.

🐾 Check for issues: Grooming sessions provide an opportunity to examine your dog’s skin, and look for any signs of irritation or lumps. Identifying and addressing these issues early can prevent them from worsening and ensure your dog stays healthy throughout these cooler months.

🐾 Prevent matting and tangling: medium / Long-haired breeds and Oodles in particular are prone to matting and tangling, which can be exacerbated during winter due to wearing jackets, and trying to keep a longer length of their coat for warmth.
Regular bathing, blow drying and hygiene trims will help maintain a longer length of their coat rather than needing a short clip during these cold months.

🦮 Remember to consider your dog’s specific breed, coat type, and grooming needs. Some breeds may require more frequent visits or specialized grooming during winter, while others may need less attention.
