Hi-Tek Aquariums has been catering to hobbyists’ needs on the Northern Beaches and its surroundings for more than 20 years. The Blue Tang, also known as Paracanthurus hepatus, is native to the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific region. Its beautiful blue and yellow hues make it a popular choice for aquariums.

Blue Tangs help maintain healthy corals by grazing on algae. They have sharp, venomous spines on both sides of their tails which they can use to defend themselves against predators.

The Crystal Shrimp originates from southern China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and northern Vietnam. In the wild, they can often be found in small mountain streams. Crystal Shrimp are a great option for both new and experienced aquarium owners.

Crystal Shrimp should be carefully placed with other fish as they are prey in nature. They are happiest when placed with plants and other hiding places within the aquarium.

The Silver Shark is also referred to as the Bala Shark, Tricolour Shark, Tricolour Sharkminnow, or Shark Minnow, and is not an actual shark. They get their name from their similar body and fin features to sharks.

The Bolivian Ram originates from the southern Amazon River basin in Brazil and Bolivia. They are a popular aquarium fish, and are sometimes also referred to as the Bolivian Butterfly, Bolivian Ram Cichlid, and Ruby Crown Cichlid.

Bolivian Rams are relatively easy keepers as they can tolerate lower water temperatures. They are shy in nature, so should be cautiously placed to avoid aggressive species.

Hi-Tek Aquariums has grown to become one of the largest and most trusted Aquarium Hobbyist Stores in Sydney. Boasting over 100 Freshwater Stock Aquariums, Over 25 Marine and Reef, 30-40 Plant Species, Coral Cascades: All Restocked Weekly. Multiple Reef Displays, Planted Displays, Cichlid Displays, aswell as a 14 foot monster one of a kind Displays (the longest piece of glass you can order). Hi-Tek Aquariums also sells Reptiles. In 2015 we Opened The Reptile Room: Home to over 15 species Turtles, Dragons, Geckos, Skinks, Pythons as well as Critters (Spiders, Scorpions, Beetles, Bugs and Slugs). We carry an extensive range of products, aquariums, terrariums and accessories to suit all of your Aquatic and Terrestrial needs. As an independently owned and run business, Hi-Tek Aquariums supports the Australian economy and provides local employment with enthusiastic and educated staff members studying in their fields.
