t puppy preschool and cat adoption program. Annandale Animal Hospital was established in 1992 as a single person vet practice. Growth and demand were strong and the hospital is now staffed by six vets and many more nurses and vet students. We are open 7 days a week and are one of the few practices on the inner west to have live in staff, so our patients can be looked after overnight. Our staff is always happy to help please call us for advice or to make an appointment. If you have an emergency we will always fit you in. We look forward to seeing you soon

Spring is here, which means more and more baby birds about. This little fellow came to us after falling out of his nest. This happens to many baby birds as they grow, and as tempting as it is to scoop them up and rescue them, their best chance of survival is in fact to be left where they are. This may seem counterintuitive, but even when they fall out of the nest, the bird's mother will still be nearby keeping an eye on her baby and making sure it is fed. If It is in harm's way, find somewhere high up to place it out of the reach of predators and the mother will continue to feed it. Many people believe that touching the baby bird will cause it's mother to reject it, but this is in fact a myth and the mother will continue to care for it even when it has been touched by a human. Please keep an eye out for these vulnerable little ones, but remember, their doting mothers are still out there watching, and will make sure their babies grow up nice and strong until they can fend for themselves

And along with that incomes tick season 🦟This is a nice reminder to ensure your furry friends are up to date with flea and paralysis tick prevention to keep them safe this spring and summer!
We now keep stock of a yearly injectable flea and tick treatment for dogs. This is convenient option for busy families who may find it challenging to remember monthly or three-monthly chews. It’s great to have options that make it easier to keep our pets safe and healthy.

MOLLY IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 💕

This is Molly she is a 5 month old DSH kitten. She can be shy when first meeting people but once you’ve gained her trust which doesn’t take long she is very loving and placid. Molly also seems to be okay with other cats and dogs, which means applications with other pets in the household will be considered. If you are looking at adding a new addition to your family, and believe that Molly would be the right fit, please send us an email with the adoption form attached which can be found in our linktree or on our website.

In addition, if you don’t think Molly is the right match for you but your still thinking of adding a new kitten/ older cat to your family also send us an email with a description of what your looking for with the adoption form attached and we will be in contact with you first if a cat/ kitten becomes available matching that description.

We will be closed this whole long weekend! Please see the information for the vets which will be open after hours if your pet does require emergent attention!!
Also, this is a gentle reminder that if your pet requires a refill on medication please talk to the reception staff by Wednesday (tomorrow) as any prescription requests made on Thursday will not be ready for collection till after the long weekend. 💕

YOU THOUGHT THE ARRIVAL OF T-SWIZZLE TO OUR SHORES WAS BIG BUT NOTHING WILL BEAT THE ARRIVAL OF THE CANINE LEPTOSPIROSIS VACCINE!!
We finally have gained enough doses of the lepto vaccine that we can provide effective coverage to the masses! If your dog is currently due for the vaccine please call us on 95509600 and the lovely ladies at reception will make an appointment for you!!

Farewell with lots of love from our Annandale Animal Hospital team🤍 Gwilym graduated from Sydney University in 1991 starting his career as a Veterinarian, working around multiple clinics in Sydney navigating his love for animals and the veterinary community. Dr Hunt started and soon after took over as the head vet of Annandale Animal Hospital in 2000. Gwil has developed an incredible community of staff and clientele throughout his career being an incredible mentor and role model for up and coming vets, nurses and reception staff. Gwil is not only an incredible vet but also an incredible dad and has enjoyed the privilege of training and working alongside his children. This week being his final week will be an amazing time for celebration, reflection and well wishes for the amazing future of traveling and enjoyment of family and friends ahead! On behalf of all AAH team and Clients we would like to thank Gwilym for all his hard work and success. A lovely message from Dr Gwilym Hunt: I have some exciting new to share! After 24 years of enjoyable and satisfying work at Annandale Animal Hospital , I have decided to take a step back. It has been such a privilege and a pleasure treating so many inner west pets over the years and a huge bonus getting to know their pet parents as well! I will definitely miss it but am looking forward to spending more time with my family, who have always supported me with all the time and energy that is required to run the practice. I will be on hand to help the team after July 5th as this is my last day, with surgery and general advice. However for the immediate future I will not be available for consultations. The quality of care that you have come to know will carry on under the direction of Dr Lauren Baume, whom many of you will have met.
