We are beyond excited to welcome Dr Nicola back into the clinic following her maternity leave! She has ditched the nappies in exchange for caring for the fur babies of Willoughby. And we're not sure who's happiest - the team, the animals or the owners!

It is with a heavy heart that we wish our dear friend Dr Hope the best of luck as she moves overseas to start her next adventure! Hope has given her heart and soul to Willoughby Vet Hospital for the past 23 years, and we could not be more grateful. Over the years, she has made a difference to so many animal's lives, in addition to mentoring many of our vets and shaping the way we care for your animals. We are so incredibly proud of beautiful Maya, a 13 year old Cavoodle who had her leg amputated on Monday and has already made such an impressive recovery, as seen in the video below. We love you Maya!

Happy Halloween! While today can be a treat for some, it can often play tricks on our furry friends. Remember to keep all sweet treats away from pets, especially chocolate and xylitol which are toxic to dogs.

Happy New Year! Thank you to our wonderful community for making 2022 another amazing year. Just a reminder we will be closed Sunday 1 Jan, open Monday 2 Jan from 10am-12pm for emergencies only and back to regular operating hours (8am-8pm) from Tuesday 3 Jan.

Today marks 25 years since Willoughby Vet Hospital's grand opening! A huge congratulations to Dr Peter Mackenzie-Wood and the team who have provided endless care to animals over this time, and continue to do so on a daily basis. Here's to the next 25 years!

We’ve recently added a few familiar faces to our walls, just in time for the easing of restrictions and having clients back inside. Below is a sneak peek of what you’ll see next time you’re in. Flop nomming on a spring roll!

Sound on!! Everyone meet Flop! Flop is a gorgeous cat who is owned by Ash, a lovely client and recent work placement student at the clinic. Flop is a domestic shorthair and was rescued from the streets at approximately 3 weeks old by Community Cat Carers. She's now around 2 years old! Flop has a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia which means, as you can see from the video, that she is a little wobbly on her feet. Cerebellar Hypoplasia is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious. Flop is incredibly happy. She is super cuddly and purry and has no issues getting around the house! She lives with two big dog siblings, Mozzy and Louie, and a rotating assortment of kittens that Ash fosters.
