BEHIND THE SCENES🐾🐾Dr Patricia and Dr Jennifer performing intra abdominal surgery to remove foreign bodies from a patient that has eaten parts of blankets , mattress material and sharp metal objects . It required removal from multiple areas including the stomach and several parts of the small intestines. Bronx recovered very well from his surgery and will not be experimenting with his diet again. Bronx was a great patient and we are so happy he is home and back to his usual self🐶❤️

🐾🐾 DYSBIOSIS TREATMENT 🐾🐾 Did you know the composition of the intestinal microbiome is very important for health? Here we are performing a feacal microbiota transplant to a young kitten that was suffering chronic diarrhoea and stunted growth. Good healthy screened donor feaces is used to provide the right healthy bacteria to the recipient. Full PPE is used as a precaution and the treatment can be performed as a day procedure. Our little champion is doing well and we are monitoring his progress.

🐾🐶🐱🩺💉💊🐾Did you know all the vets at Abbotsbury routinely keep expanding and refreshing their knowledge? This weekend Dr Patricia attended a very special oncology workshop in QLD to help provide treatments to our cancer patients at Abbotsbury.It involved learning about new advancements in cancer treatments as well as learning new techniques that can be administered in general practice. Dr Patricia has also recently attended conferences and workshops in neurology, pain control, dentistry, immunology, advancements in allergy treatments and autoimmune diseases in small animals. 🐕🐕‍🦺🐈🐈‍⬛🐾

A BOX OF PUPPIES ! 🐾🐾 Dr Jen had the pleasure examining and vaccinating this beautiful litter of mini dachshunds this week. There was a lot of wet nose kisses and wagging tails which brought a smile to everyone at the clinic. A reminder that puppy ownership has many rewards as well as great responsibility . DM us if you are interested in giving a home to one of these gorgeous pups.
