Shy at first, Cindy was very vocal on the first night in her new home. She started to settle in, choosing a favourite armchair but 3 weeks later started vomiting. After chatting with our behaviourist, Cindy's owner started giving her smaller portions of food throughout the day & the issue was solved. If you have a kitten or even an older cat who guzzles food & vomits it may be that they can't handle a lot of food at once. Try feeding more often in smaller amounts, scatter dry food or use a puzzle feeder to slow them down. As you can see Cindy is now a happy cat...and so is her owner.

Not any more! - he is so settled now he even helps his owner out with the crossword. What a wonderful home he has. He looks so happy and cared for! She sleeps when the owners are sleeping except when she's chasing the occasional bouncing ball at 2am! ... Her owners are having so much fun and are “all in all very happy cat owners”. Let's hope she doesn't scare Santa away tonight.

After working hard cleaning SAFE Haven these lucky volunteers got to socialise some of the kittens we have ready for adoption. Everyone wants to meet a kitten so if you have just brought a new kitten home please don't overwhelm them over the Christmas/New Year period. Supervise visitors one at a time and keep the kitten in a quiet space as far away as you can from the noise. Children can also get over-excited so if you have young ones please also supervise their interactions so that the kitten doesn't get over-anxious.
