✨️ Create safe space or hidey holes

✨️ Comfort your pets if they are afraid

✨️ Play music to cover the firework noise

✨️ Close blinds and curtains beforehand

✨️ Ensure microchip details are up to date via petregistry.olg.nsw.gov.au

The heatwave is in full swing and today is expected to be even hotter!

Please be mindful of our furry and feathery friends in this heat.

☀️ Ensure access to water at all times
☀️ Keep inside where possible. All pocket pets will need to be inside as hutches can heat up like ovens.
☀️ If unable to keep inside, allow access to shady, cooler places
☀️ Do not take out for walks in the heat. Aside from the risk of heatstroke, the ground will be too hot and could burn their feet.

Heatstroke can be deadly. Monitor for signs that include excessive panting, collapsing or very weak and blood in urine.

If you suspect your pet has suffered heatstroke, please contact us on 97892622 immediately.

Happy Reptile Appreciation Day!

We were lucky enough to have this Eastern water dragon brought into Campsie Vets a couple weeks ago. He was found by a member of public after being attacked by a dog. We treated him with fluids and antibiotics and after some time in care, was released back to the wild.

Here at Campsie Vets, we work closely with carers at WIRES to help our native reptiles get back to their natural home as soon as possible. Give them a call on 1300 094 7373 if you find any injured lizard, turtle or snake.
