I love this little bloke. We thoroughly enjoyed each others company last time he caught me out back. I’ll share some lovely footage next time as he likes to walk the whole paddock with me while we did the dog p**p pick-up together 💩

Well done. You got through the exciting new puppy stage, attended puppy class, did your homework, toilet training, survived the playful mouthy age and your puppy sits like a champion!⁠

😮…However, you’ve woken up to find your perfect dog has gone & left you with a dog that looks like yours but is acting like he doesn’t know you or the training he was getting A+ in!⁠⁠⁠
Similarly to kids, teenage adolescents will test you. Bigger, stronger but still young in the mind. Larger breeds develop slower than smaller breeds however be mindful your dog will be hormonal as they enter sexual maturity somewhere between approx 6- 24 mths of age.⁠⁠⁠
Don’t be surprised as your dog will have lots of energy, is curious & keen to see how far they can test you. Keep going and all your hard work will pay off if you don’t quit.⁠⁠⁠
Please go into puppyhood adolescence prepared, provided you’ve put time & effort in early, by the time your dog reaches this age you could find yourselves breezing through without much change at all. For those dogs who don’t have families with patience & education to support them, this is the age many dogs end up in pounds.

Brrrr… Winter has arrived, and our shelter animals need a little extra warmth and comfort! We’re running low on blankets, towels, sheets, and other cozy bedding to help keep our furry friends snug during the chilly months. ❄️❤️

If you’re having a clean-out, please consider donating any old (but clean) towels, blankets, flannelette sheets, or throws to help line kennels, keep paws warm, and make the nights a little softer.

Please *No pillows, no quilts, no electric blankets as these may all pose choking hazards.

Careful what bones we give… it’s a hard no to cooked bones for sure, no matter the size of our dogs, they’re all a risk.

Meet Bailey, an adorable 8w old Golden Retriever, who presented to ARH Homebush after swallowing a lamb bone. When Bailey arrived, the bone was trapped in the oesophagus! Dr Max used his amazing skills to retrieve the bone using an endoscope. Although we could have cuddled Bailey all night, Bailey made a full recovery and he was able to go home the same night! 😍🫶
