a no-kill philosophy, with a focus on finding animals their forever homes through our Foster to Adopt Program. This program is key to our organisation’s success, as it rehabilitates our animals in preparation for their new life. We focus on:
- reducing the number of unwanted and abandoned animals through rehoming
community education
- desexing initiatives, and
- liaising with other welfare organisations

We do this with a direct purpose, which is working towards the introduction of new legislation to give greater protection to all animals. This also serves to provide further direction for other registered rescue organisations. Maggie’s Rescue cares for all our animals through our amazing network of foster carers. They provide a safe and nurturing home for animals in need until their forever home is found.

🚨 Important Announcement: Cat Intakes Temporarily Closed 🚨

We’re heartbroken to share that we’ve had to pause all new cat intakes for the time being. With over 100 cats and kittens already in our care and adoptions slowing down, we simply can’t take on more until we find loving homes for the ones already relying on us. 💔

This isn’t a decision we made lightly — but we need to prioritise finding families for the cats already in our care before we can help more.

✨ Let’s talk about Whiskers — gentle soul, undercover diva, full-time purr machine. 🐱💕

She might not roll out the welcome mat right away, but give her a little time (and some snacks 👀) and she’ll decide you’re her person. Once you’re in, you’re in — Whiskers will be glued to your side, ideally curled up in your lap.

Lately, she’s found her voice — but only to tell you something important:

Maggie's Rescue is a NFP, No Kill animal rescue group based in Marrickville in the Inner West of Sydney. We are a co-operative of carers, who are all committed to our mission, which is to save and re-home abandoned and at risk animals, initially into a warm and loving foster home until we are able to find their perfect adoptive home. 🐶🐱

Our vision is that we do this with compassion, honesty and support to all our foster carers, volunteers, adopters and the greater community.

If you are able to offer a safe home to an animal in need or if you are interested in becoming a foster carer, then you will be rewarded with lots of affection and loyalty, and a love which is unconditional and furry!

All of our rescued animal leave our care vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, de-sexed, flea and worm treated.
