a no-kill philosophy, with a focus on finding animals their forever homes through our Foster to Adopt Program. This program is key to our organisation’s success, as it rehabilitates our animals in preparation for their new life. We focus on:
- reducing the number of unwanted and abandoned animals through rehoming
community education
- desexing initiatives, and
- liaising with other welfare organisations

We do this with a direct purpose, which is working towards the introduction of new legislation to give greater protection to all animals. This also serves to provide further direction for other registered rescue organisations. Maggie’s Rescue cares for all our animals through our amazing network of foster carers. They provide a safe and nurturing home for animals in need until their forever home is found.

She may be young, but Kapu is already serving looks and opinions 💅🐾

This striking little miss has a big personality packed into a tiny body. She’s sociable, confident, and just independent enough to remind you she’s in charge. One minute she’s body-slamming her siblings in a full WWE-style wrestling match, the next she’s chilling with her humans — strictly on her schedule, of course.

Kapu is looking for a home stacked with good toys, fun enrichment, and ideally one or two feline besties to scheme, play, and nap with. She’d also suit older, cat-savvy kids who understand that cuddles are amazing… but only when Kapu has pencilled them into her calendar.
High-energy when it’s playtime, expert-level relaxation when it’s not — she loves zooming hard, then disappearing into a cosy corner to recharge like the powerful little icon she is.

That Mirabelle is a total stunner is basically a known fact 💅✨
But yes… we will still go on about her cloud-soft fur and those dreamy blue eyes because HOW could we not?!

Luckily for her future human, Mirabelle is just as gorgeous on the inside. She’s gentle, affectionate, and an elite-level companion — perfect for WFH supervisors, couch-lounging professionals, and anyone in need of a dedicated foot-warming service at bedtime. Bonus points if you know how to deliver premium chin scratches and those very specific lower-back scritches she adores.

Her love language? Nose kisses.
Morning? Kiss.
Bedtime? Kiss.

She will personally clock in to ensure you feel loved before lights out. Absolute angel behaviour.
Mirabelle is also a curious little home inspector — investigating wardrobes, drawers, and any suspiciously open spaces. She’s a big fan of building blanket tunnels and rug caves, where she can nap, wait for pats, or both (usually both).
Low-key, relaxed, sleeps through the night… until it’s time for morning zoomies and stealth foot attacks, obviously. She’s also OBSESSED with her wand toy and will physically bring it to you so you don’t “forget” playtime. Subtle? No. Effective? Yes.

This little heart-throb has mastered the art of being your personal shadow. Bathroom? He’s there. Kitchen? Already waiting. Couch? Pre-warmed. And that iconic beauty spot? It’s giving model, it’s giving main character, it’s giving “I definitely know I’m cute.”

Honour is a professional purr machine who turns on the motor the second you pick him up. He’s playful, curious, and takes hallway ball-chasing VERY seriously, followed by dramatic parkour on the cat tree. Once he’s burned off his zoomies, he’s straight back to snuggling like it’s his full-time job.

Aldi Special has been told multiple times he belongs on Australia’s Next Top Meowdel. He pretends to be humble about it… but the slow blinks say otherwise 😌📸

Despite his superstar status, Aldi is a certified soft boy. While his siblings WWE-smackdown each other, he’s choosing the VIP section: hanging out with his foster humans, soaking up cuddles, sneaking snacks, and scheduling extremely important naps.

His daily routine includes:

Maggie’s Rescue

Maggie's Rescue is a NFP, No Kill animal rescue group based in Marrickville in the Inner West of Sydney. We are a co-operative of carers, who are all committed to our mission, which is to save and re-home abandoned and at risk animals, initially into a warm and loving foster home until we are able to find their perfect adoptive home. 🐶🐱

Our vision is that we do this with compassion, honesty and support to all our foster carers, volunteers, adopters and the greater community.

If you are able to offer a safe home to an animal in need or if you are interested in becoming a foster carer, then you will be rewarded with lots of affection and loyalty, and a love which is unconditional and furry!

All of our rescued animal leave our care vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, de-sexed, flea and worm treated.
