a no-kill philosophy, with a focus on finding animals their forever homes through our Foster to Adopt Program. This program is key to our organisation’s success, as it rehabilitates our animals in preparation for their new life. We focus on:
- reducing the number of unwanted and abandoned animals through rehoming
community education
- desexing initiatives, and
- liaising with other welfare organisations

We do this with a direct purpose, which is working towards the introduction of new legislation to give greater protection to all animals. This also serves to provide further direction for other registered rescue organisations. Maggie’s Rescue cares for all our animals through our amazing network of foster carers. They provide a safe and nurturing home for animals in need until their forever home is found.

Who’s got two giant ears, a potato bod and a set of tic tac teef? It’s new recruit Nelly!

Nelly a 3 year old Frenchie arrived to foster this week. Sadly Nelly’s was surrendered by her family as they could no longer provide the care she deserves. While in foster we will be working with her on better manners around other dogs but she may always prefer life as a solo dog at home. Adoptions open: Bonus

Bonus is a fabulous Mini American Shepherd who might have skipped the “mini” memo—she’s closer to the size of her Aussie Shepherd cousins. She’s an affectionate lass who’s making up for lost time after growing up in kennels and has been quick to adjust to a life of luxury. Bonus does well in the company of other dogs getting along best with medium-to-large male dogs, she would also enjoy life as a solo queen. This spirited girl has a knack for sneaky thievery—socks, shoes, or even the mail and she knows all she has to do is whip out her cheeky grin and we can’t stay mad.

🏡 Bonus is looking for an experienced, adult-only home with people who canunderstand her quirks and can provide her with the calm, structured environment she thrives in. A home with a yard where she can roam and relax is ideal. She is still learning to navigate the big, wide world. While she enjoys her walks she is more at ease in quiet, low-traffic areas rather than busy city streets. With time and an understanding family taking it at her pace Bonus will continue to build confidence.

Meet Oni, a 12-week-old Rottweiler mix who’s had a rough start but is now safe and very loved in his foster home 🖤

After being rescued from a heartbreaking situation—tied up for weeks with limited movement and suffering from neglect—Oni is now learning what love and care feel like. He’s making friends, enjoying cozy beds, healthy meals, and lots of affection. 💕

Oni is still healing and building trust, so he’s not ready for adoption just yet. But with time, he’ll become the happy, confident pup he deserves to be.

Meet Oni, a sweet 12-week-old Rottweiler mix who has had a rough start in life. 🖤

Oni was found tied to a short leash out the front of a property for weeks. The poor little guy barely had enough slack to sit comfortably, let alone move freely. When a concerned member of the public saw his situation, they intervened and learned from the owner that Oni had been tied up to stop him from chewing on a mobility scooter. In the weeks he'd been tied up, Oni's muscles had weakened, his mobility was limited, and he was suffering from fleas and flystrike. But thanks to the kindness of a good Samaritan, Oni was rescued from that life and brought into our care.

Though shy and still recovering, Oni is slowly learning what it means to be loved. He’s making new friends, including the foster carers resident dog, and discovering the joy of comfy beds, healthy meals, and lots of affection. 💕

Oni is still in the healing process, both physically and emotionally. His muscles need time to strengthen, and he needs to build trust with people again. While we are hopeful for his recovery, he won’t be available for adoption just yet—he’ll need a few more weeks of care and TLC before he's ready for a new home.

Please send all the good vibes his way as he continues his journey toward becoming the strong, confident, and happy pup he deserves to be. ✨

Froggy has the sweetest personality—she’s quiet, happy, and oh-so-calm. She loves nothing more than lounging on the couch or soaking up the sun outside. ☀️ She’s truly a gentle soul, and we’re so excited to help her on this journey to a fresh start.

She’s currently undergoing her health checks and settling into foster care, but stay tuned—Froggy will soon be ready for her forever home! 🏡

Since he’s a young puppy learning the ropes he’s looking for a home where his humans are around most of the time and can provide him with calm, consistent guidance as he grows. A backyard for zoomies and games is a must and his hilarious play style will keep you entertained. Caramel Corn gets so into playing that sometimes his front legs give out, and he’ll lie on the floor, still trying to keep the fun going. Maggie's Rescue is a NFP, No Kill animal rescue group based in Marrickville in the Inner West of Sydney. We are a co-operative of carers, who are all committed to our mission, which is to save and re-home abandoned and at risk animals, initially into a warm and loving foster home until we are able to find their perfect adoptive home. 🐶🐱

Our vision is that we do this with compassion, honesty and support to all our foster carers, volunteers, adopters and the greater community.

If you are able to offer a safe home to an animal in need or if you are interested in becoming a foster carer, then you will be rewarded with lots of affection and loyalty, and a love which is unconditional and furry!

All of our rescued animal leave our care vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, de-sexed, flea and worm treated.
