Despite being two years old you could easily mistake this scragamuffin for a puppy with her silly antics and enthusiasm for pretty much everything. She adores people and is especially fond of kids. Dizzy is also a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs however she still has a way to go learning manners and how to read the room on when other dogs need space. While she loves a romp in a dog park but she really would thrive in a home who can help her learn these soft skills and provide her structure and discipline in social settings. She is best suited to an active family who can match her high energy and playful spirit. Dizzy is the ultimate cuddle bug! Pick her up, and she turns into a total rag doll, melting into your arms. Unfortunately she does have some separation anxiety, so a home where she won’t be left alone for long periods would be ideal. Dizzy doesn’t really operate in moderation mode so she needs two good walks a day with some additional playtime or training sessions 😉 to keep her happy and prevent her from channeling her energy towards undesirable habits.

Limpet is the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and just the right amount of sass. She got her name because she loves to be close to her humans whenever she can. While she’s been working on separation skills in foster care, she will need a home to continue this training and humans who are initially at least home more often than not to ease her into longer periods alone. This clever pup is a fast learner and has already mastered the doggy door like a pro. She adores playing fetch, zooming around with her doggy pals, and then immediately crashing into a deep, adorable nap. Limpet is a big fan of dog companions, so a home with a resident dog would be a bonus. A home with a yard and secure fencing would be preferred, but she’s a smart cookie and could adapt to apartment living with some training.

We always have an influx of messages Fridays - Sundays for assistance with stray cats and kittens, so we’re just reminding everyone that our cat and kitten intakes are currently closed as we are over capacity right now.

🛑 CAT & KITTEN INTAKES CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE 🛑

Kitten season has hit us hard, and we are currently at full capacity with both our foster placements and the financial resources to care for them all. We’re receiving over 50 requests per day for help with cat surrenders and strays, and we’re doing our best to manage the cats already in our care. While we’re just one of many rescues in Sydney, we can tell you that nearly every rescue is in a similar position right now.

What can you do if you find a stray cat? First and foremost, please don’t assume that taking a cat home will automatically result in rescue support. Before stepping in, ask yourself:

- Does the cat need immediate medical attention?
- Is the cat in immediate danger?

If it’s safe and the cat is not in urgent need of care, please think before bringing it home, as we’re all stretched thin. If you do decide to bring the cat in, please visit a vet for a microchip scan to check if it’s an owned cat. Be patient as you reach out to rescues – it may take time to find help.

How can you help?

- Adopt a cat! Every adoption creates space for another cat in need.
- Foster with your local rescue if you can.
- Sponsor a desexing to help break the cycle of overpopulation.
- Be proactive: Contact rescues early, but remember they are also operating at full capacity and won’t always be able to respond right away.
- Be compassionate: Resources are limited, and everyone is doing their best.

If you’re a cat owner, please desex your cat to help stop the cycle. If cost is an issue, many councils offer low or no-cost desexing programs. It’s far cheaper to desex than to care for a litter of kittens!

New faces in foster!!

We will see your one Cheddar Chipmunk and raise you his three siblings. That’s right while chipmunk arrived early due to health complications for neonatal care his three littermates were waiting in the wings with mum still. The time has come and the full litter is now in care to get ready for forever families. These husky x shepherds are little balls of fur and s***k ready to take on everything the world has to offer them and pretty soon they will be on the look out for forever families. We know that these guys will be busy and whip smart just like brother chipmunk who’s already up for adoption so if you’re an active household keen to engage in training stay tuned.

Did you know that when we intake puppies mum and dad are also desexed as part of our commitment to breaking the breeding cycle. By desexing parents of unwanted litters we can be sure they’re the last litter and also help support homes in keeping beloved pets when possible rather than surrendering into already overburdened rescue networks.
