** INTRODUCING CANINE COLLECTIVE ADVENTURES**

Anyone who knows me would understand my absolute love and adoration of the dogs, all the dogs, clients or not.
I live and breathe anything I can do to make their lives better.
My other great love is the outdoors. Most of my clients know how much of an outdoors sunbunny I am.
So what better way to combine my love of dogs with my love of the outdoors?
Canine adventures 🤩🐕‍🦺

Forget your normal dog walk, these will be long hikes, exploring forests or coastal beach trips.
They will typically be half a day (3/4 hours) and dogs must have solid recall and be good off leash.
Adventures will be Friday’s only at this stage and will book up fast! DM or text to book ✌🏼

What makes dog daycare at the canine collective unique and the only one of its kind on the northern beaches✨
~ We are training and behaviour based! This means we are not a free play centre where all the dogs are put in a dog park style environment where they are allowed to practice potentially anti social behaviours like body slamming, resource guarding or barking. These practices can and often do lead to dog fights.
~ We do not allow barking. Despite being a natural behaviour for dogs, barking to initiate play will quickly lead to dogs barking to communicate many other things like initiating play with us, their want for dinner, their need for the toilet, anything really! Don’t get me wrong a bark here or there in enjoyment is no problem at all.
~ We consistently and constantly work on undesirable behaviours. Jumping, inappropriate barking, chewing, anxieties.
~ We are small! Teeny tiny in fact! It’s actually how we manage to run such a successful training program. We are not stacking dogs from floor to ceiling. We have the time to work with the dogs one on one and in small groups.
~ Sleep sleep and more sleep. Tired dogs are no different than tired children, their ability to read body language lowers, their patience levels are lowered, frustration increases, and the likelihood of a dog fight or simply poor choices in behaviour being practiced is increasingly significant. We follow a sleep program similar to a human daycare.
~ We are indoors! Whilst the outdoors has amazing benefits so does indoors. We are constantly temperature controlled, safe from the elements, not at risk of frightening sounds and events which means we are able to provide a stable unchanging environment.
~ We are PERFECT for puppies and young dogs. Between the environment, potty plants for toileting, temperature, the amazing training we provide, and the structure and sleep, we are the safest option for young dogs and puppies. We completely replicate what owners are trying to achieve at home.

Bye 2022 ✌🏼

What a year, it hasn’t been easy but I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else or doing anything else. There’s been a heap of highs and lows, and everything in between. Finished off by the most amazing last couple of weeks filled with incredibly kind and generous gifts from the most amazing clients anyone could ask for.

We will reopen on January 16 and will miss you all like crazy till then.

I feel truly blessed to wake up every day and call this work. I love your dogs like my own and treasure every moment I spend with them.

GROOMING DOESN’T HAVE TO BE SCARY Grooming is a very human concept and not easily understood by our dogs. But with the right groomer and the right steps, we can show dogs that it’s nothing to be afraid of and that they can completely relax. When your groomer recommends really regular appointments the best thing you can do is take their advice. I know people may worry that it’s simply a cash grab, but the reality is there is very little money in grooming. Did you know @butter.thegroodle is less than 2 years old? This was only her 5th haircut and she is falling asleep on the grooming table! Why? Her mum Bonnie has had her bathed and blow dried professionally almost every week so that she is never matted and never has negative experiences 🙅🏻‍♀️ Understanding the correlation between how often you get your dog groomed and the haircut that is realistically achievable is so important. Your dog cannot look like Butter without regular grooming. We work with lots of dogs who haven’t had the greatest grooming experiences and not all are as calm as Butter. Working WITH a dog and understanding their fears and anxieties is so important. Here at TCC we don’t even own muzzles. We have no use for them. Even dogs that are aggressive can be managed without them. We always approach grooming with a behaviour and training mindset in order to achieve the best result possible. We are always available for completely transparent and honest consults and happy to answer any grooming questions 🤍

Is your dog a chewer? . I always have to provide something for Tommy to do, otherwise I risk my couch or the kids toys or parts of my car, being completely destroyed! Trust me I learnt the hard way! . This is the topple and it can be used as a food dispensing toy similar to our bob a lot. It can be used as a slow reward similar to a kong. But even completely empty, he just loves to chew on it! . Definitely a wise investment for the chewy puppy!
