This morning, a friendly grey domestic medium-hair kitten, around 4-5 months old, was handed into our vet clinic. He was found near Artarmon Station and is safe with us now.

We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Jade, our new lead veterinarian, who is joining us with a wealth of experience and a heart full of passion for animal care! 🐾

Dr. Jade graduated from the University of Sydney in 2012 and has since honed her skills in emergency, exotics, and wildlife medicine. Her expertise spans a remarkable range of animals, including cats, dogs, small mammals (rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats), reptiles, birds, and even native wildlife. Her dedication to avian care is evident in her Avian membership qualifications. 🦜

Jade’s adventurous spirit shines through in both her professional and personal life. Having lived in Mexico, Colombia, and Morocco, she brings a rich tapestry of cultures and languages to our clinic. Her travels have taken her to remote corners of the world, from paddling down the Amazon River to working with endangered species like pandas in China, pangolins in Africa, and elephants in Asia. 🌍🦘

At home, Jade shares her space with three wonderful humans, a chocolate Burmese cat, and a shingleback lizard. Her deep love for felines, especially geriatric cats, drives her passion for managing chronic conditions such as renal failure, endocrine diseases, and arthritis. 🐱💖

Dr. Jade is also highly committed to nutrition and palliative care, always striving to enhance the quality of life for her patients. We’re incredibly excited to have her expertise and compassionate care at the heart of our clinic!

👩‍⚕️ Dr. Barbara has been caring for pets since 2000 and has a special affection for our feline friends. She adores cats and is dedicated to ensuring their health and happiness. At home, she shares her life with Kruvy, a 13.5-year-old terrier mix (check out the adorable photo!).

🍪 Outside work, Dr. Barbara is a passionate baker who loves experimenting in the kitchen. Her sourdough, Barney, is a household favourite! Her adventurous spirit also led her to travel across Australia in a caravan for five months, exploring the beauty of our country.

📚She has a particular interest in nutrition, dermatology, and feline internal medicine. She stays abreast of the latest advancements in these fields to provide the best possible care for your pets.

Whilst some breeds of pets can be prone to ear problems, inflammation and infections can occur from something as simple as a grass seed. If you suspect your pet has an ear infection or you’ve noticed a change from your pet's normal ear condition, please contact us to book an appointment for your pet. 😸🐾🐶

Springtime means grass seed season, and for something so tiny, they can cause a lot of big problems for your pet! The issues they can cause range from minor discomfort right through to potentially life-threatening conditions. If you cannot remove a grass seed from your pet’s coat (with your fingers, tweezers or scissors), give us a call to organise removal.
