TURKISH - A DIFFERENT KIND OF TOWEL
Handloomed Turkish Towels, Bathrobes for adults and children, beachwear and Bath Items made by traditional methods by the local women in Buldan Turkey. Description We are proud to launch Turkish Murkish Collection in Australia. It has been a dream of mine to bring back a part of my heritage to Australians. My Australian husband was the one who fell in love with the towel known as a Pestemal or Hammam towel. We would bring these towels back home as gifts from our holidays and continue to get requests for them and this is how Turkish Murkish Collection was born. The Pestemal (pronounced “Pesh-teh-mal”) has been used for centuries in the Turkish Hammams and can been seen all over the Mediterranean & Aegean beaches. Our Pestemal products are all loomed by the artisans in the Turkish town of Buldan, Denizli famous for not only its cotton but for their artisans who create amazingly unique and high quality designs. Why own a Pestemal? The Turks, being practical people use them for almost anything. They are the most versatile towel ever and their uses are only limited by your imagination. Light and compact, making them easy to carry and make them the perfect travel towel. They are absorbent, dry quickly and don’t hold sand like a normal towel does after a day at the beach. They can be used as stylish table cloths, baby wraps, pet blankets, picnic rugs, blankets and throws, the more you wash them the softer they get. We recommend you wash the towels at least twice in either cold or warm water to ensure maximum absorbency before use. We will continue to introduce new colours, designs and different textures as we expand the range. All our products are made in Turkey.
