🎥 Meet Dumpling, Our Little Fighter! 🐾
Say hello to Dumpling, the most vocal (and tiniest!) patient we’ve had this week. This feisty little guy weighs just 1kg, but don’t let his size fool you—he’s got a big personality and a strong will to recover! 💪🐱
Dumpling recently underwent major surgery to treat intussusception, a condition where one part of the intestine slides into another, causing a blockage. This serious condition can lead to pain, vomiting, and other complications if left untreated. Thankfully, Dumpling is on the mend and making sure everyone at Enfield Veterinary Hospital knows how he feels about his recovery—one meow at a time! 😻
Our team stayed open throughout the holiday period to provide care for special patients like Dumpling. We believe every pet deserves immediate attention, no matter the season. 💖
Let’s send Dumpling lots of love as he continues to heal. ❤️ Have you got a story of a brave pet you’d like to share? Let us know in the comments below!

🐾 Meet Tommie – Our Brave Boy! 🐾
Tommie came to us with a severe abscess and cellulitis on his ventral abdomen, likely from a cat fight. After surgery yesterday, we’re happy to report that he’s on the mend! 🌟
Cat fight abscesses are painful and can be dangerous if untreated. If your cat has a bite wound or swelling, don’t wait—seek veterinary care right away! 🐱💖

🐾 Bluey's Big Recovery! 🐾
This is Bluey, a 3-year-old Ragdoll who had been struggling to eat for 3 days before his owner brought him to us. His new family had adopted him just over a month ago and noticed he was having difficulty eating due to painful teeth. 😿
After a successful dental procedure to remove his problem teeth, we’re thrilled to share that Bluey is already eating again—just hours after his surgery! 🦷💙 It’s amazing to see this sweet kitty feeling so much better so quickly!
A huge thank you to Bluey’s owners for trusting us with his care. We're so happy to be part of his recovery journey. 😻

🐾 Meet Cato, our brave 9-month-old Border Collie! After swallowing a piece of rubber that blocked his intestines, he needed emergency surgery on Thursday. Thanks to our advanced imaging and minimally invasive techniques, we performed an enterotomy with a small incision, ensuring less pain and a quicker recovery. We’re thrilled to report that Cato went home happy and healthy on Friday! 🐶❤️
The beutiful Nala came to Enfield Vets yesterday heavily pregnant and in trouble. We managed to deliver two puppies naturally before she became too exhausted to continue. A caesarian followed.
We're thrilled to report that we delivered a total of five happy and healthy puppies! Nala and her pups went home last night. Nala's being a great mum already and the pups are doing well. As you can see they're extremely cute!

Groot showing us how great he's doing 1 week after his hip surgery!
The importance of dental xrays! One the left you can see a xray of a tooth with a broken and missing tooth root. On the right you can see the same tooth after it's been removed. Xrays help us diagnose and treat dental disease in dogs and cats, really adding significantly to our ability to treat disease appropriately.
This is the image we see when we ultrasound a dog's heart with a leaky mitral valve. You can see the multicoloured flash on this image (circled) every time the heart beats. This is blood leaking back into the left atrium of the heart instead of going down the aorta. Thankfully this dog is on the right medication and is very stable.
We offer both in house heart imaging by our own vets and also have a veterinary cardiologist available to see our clients at Enfield if needed. If you need any help please call on (02)97473999 or book a consult by copying and pasting the link below:

Ultrasound is a wonderful diagnostic tool that allows us to assess the inside of our pets when they need our help. We're very grateful to have vets at our practice with vast amounts of experience using ultrasound. The ultrasound image below shows a large blood clot in the caudal vena cava of a dog. Detecting disease such as this allows us to offer best care and advice for out patients on the day the present to us.

A simple procedure we often perform at Enfield Vets is a corrective surgery for narrow nostrils in brachycephalic dogs (short nosed dogs like pugs and bulldogs). By opening the nostril we can partly improve their breathing. The attached photo shows a surgery done at Enfield today - we are halfway through the surgery at the time of the photo- the left side nostril (arrow) has been widened while the right side is about to be widened.
If your dog has breathing issues or you need help in any way please call us on (02)97473999 or copy and paste the link below :
