BRINGING YOUR PUPPY HOME 🐶
There is a lot of things to think about on the day you’re bringing your puppy home and introducing it to the family.
Here’s Amy's Puppy Pre School top tips to making the day run smoothly.
#1 Travelling: Making sure your puppy is safe in the car whilst travelling home is of the utmost importance. Make sure you’re adequately prepared.
#2 Trip length/Toilet breaks: If you are travelling far, make sure you stop for toilet-breaks for your new puppy. Amy recommends stopping in a quiet place with little to no people, and taking your puppy for the toilet, with a lead and collar (of course).
#3 Arriving home: Straight to the garden we go. Allow your new puppy to familiarise itself with the environment and get a little ‘toilet’ in.
#4 Crate training: Crates are beneficial to help puppies and dogs to settle. Amy recommends allowing your puppy some time to itself, in its crate, to decompress from a stressful day of leaving the litter.

#5: Puppy Sleep: it’s important to bond with your puppy and that means keeping it close to you. Allow your puppy to sleep in the same room as you (as opposed to the laundry) so that it can feel safe 😴
