The Cottage Animal Hospital is a collaborative venture between Doggie Rescue and Veterinarian Dr Deirdre (Dee) Clack. Dee has been a full time veterinarian for 26 years, including doing much of the veterinary work for re

scue animals from for Doggie Rescue animals for over 15 years. Our caring and knowledgeable staff will work hard to ensure your pet receives loving, gentle health care, in a calm environment - and we commit to provide you with all the information you need to consider treatment options which are tailored to the specific needs of you and your pet. We are very proud of our animal hospital and strive to make it welcoming, inclusive and a place where you feel you belong and can drop in for a social visit or any time you have concerns about your pet.

we have kittens!!!! - anyone like to guess how many?? These guys were born at The Cottage from a very pregnant stray mum who Doggierescue have taken under their wing. If you are looking for a new feline family member come and meet these busy bees!! 💙💙💙 Mum will also be available for adoption once she’s recovered from raising this lot!! 💙💙

Sonny’s 3 year *gotcha day* today! Note he arrived during the 2021 Olympics!

This little bottle fed baby is ready for adoption. Murphy is 8 weeks old.
He’s got a lot of cute plus a lot of energy to match!!
We also have another litter of 8 week olds ( photos soon )
Bottle fed babies need a little more patience and training so he would be better with an experienced cat owner and no one younger than 12.

Anyone that works in any capacity in rescue knows the heartbreak of watching homeless pets become homeless faster than they get adopted.

Social media feeds and gumtree are full of happy innocent puppies and kittens being advertised for sale go to new homes.

Every photo of a new puppy or a new kitten we see … our brains fast forwards to the see the sad physically and emotionally broken ones that end up in the pound, abandoned or on the street pregnant because they no longer are valued by whoever took them on to start with.

Pounds and rescues are literately overflowing. Animals are being euthanised daily in council pounds because there is no where for them to go.

Magic - is our unicorn tortoiseshell boy - and yes he’s still with us.
He’s been with us for well over 6 months.

We all love him and he loves us but he deserves a home and a lap and a family to call his own

He’s AMAZING and literally one in a million.

He has
not had ONE SINGLE ADOPTION APPOINTMENT
NOT ONE SINGLE ADOPTION ENQUIRY. NOT ONE SINGLE PHONE CALL.

It makes our hearts so sad.

If you have been thinking of adding a forever feline friend to your family please come and meet him. He can be a little shy initially but once he’s comfortable he’s a smooching booping snuggle buddy!!

He’s great with cat friendly dogs
But he would absolutely need to be an indoor only boy. He’d be happy to be the only cat in the household and would give endless amounts of love.

Please share and try to get this darling boy stretched out by someone’s fire with a full belly and a forever family to call his own 💙💙

With the Easter long weekend here , we are closed until Tuesday to give our staff a well earned break.

Warning …. this video cannot be unseen….Proceed with caution …. ————- So this year we decided to do something a little different to blow off some end of year steam. We and our families danced up a storm with the Wiggles, belted out some tunes, and had a picnic at Carols in the Domain. So much fun! ♥️💚

This little cutie pie is Bobby - we never cease to be amazed at the resilience of some of these little old rescues. Bobby was in the pound with a badly diseased eye due to a deep perforated ulcer that was never treated. Doggierescue took him to the eye specialist immediately but unfortunately they said that sadly the eye could not be saved. This video was taken about an hour after his surgery to remove his painful diseased eye and about 2 minutes after he polished off a bowl of warm chicken. Thank you Doggierescue for helping these little oldies - Get well soon Bobby ♥️♥️♥️

PROCEED WITH CAUTION ————— Our little parvo babies have left the building!! All have recovered well, and now need to put on all the weight they lost while they were so ill. They have retuned to the care of Doggierescue and will soon be available for adoption. ♥️♥️♥️

Remember our shy Unicorn Calico boy, Magic? He is really coming out of his shell with love and patience from our nurses. He’s playing and head booping and paddling and smooching . He will make a magic companion for someone. He needs a quiet household with someone home more often than not to bring out the best in him. He is available for adoption via the wonderful Monikas Doggierescue via our clinic. Male Calicos are VERY VERY rare - in face he is the first one out vets have seen in 30+years.
