Our Story

The Gymea Bay Public School, Gymea Lily Festival is now one of the biggest community events in the shire attracting over 5,000 visitors each year. This event is the major fundraiser for Gymea Bay Public School organised by the P&C Association annually, co-ordinated by Kylie Hewitt along with over 300 parent volunteers who work tirelessly each and every year.

The first ever Lily Festival was organised back in the 60’s to raise funds for a school hall and was such a success it continued for many years after that. The fete had a make over back in the 90’s being branded the Gymea Arts and Craft Fete with all local artists being invited to show their pieces in a gallery display in the school hall.

Unfortunately the fete had a few years off and when it was launched again in 2011 it was once again branded The Gymea Lily Festival.
