‘Ixodes holocyclus’
A paralysis tick shown under a microscope
Warmer weather has started, spring is just around the corner and we will start to see a rapid increase of tick population.
Although no tick prevention product is 100%, there are very effective preventatives available for both dogs and cats🐶🐱
Every year Veterinary clinics have patients affected by tick paralysis and every year we have patients die.
This is not because of the products efficacy but most commonly because of a lapse in dosing the prevention.
Please ensure your pet is up to date with their prevention! If you are unsure about which product is the best for your pet, our staff are available 7 days a week to assist you and keep your pet as safe as possible 🐾
This beautiful baby ringtail came into the clinic found with her deceased mum. After being stabilised and vet assessed, she was sent to a licensed wildlife carer until she is old enough to be released into the wild.
If you ever find injured, sick or orphaned wildlife please contact Wires on 8977 3333. If it is safe to do so, we are always happy for any wildlife to be brought into the clinic for assessment 💕🐾
‘Bailey’ the 11 year old Spaniel was admitted into hospital for sedation and foreign body removal of a thorn stuck in his right front leg.
Ouch! What a relief once it was removed!
He has since made a full recovery 🐾
