Hello everyone,

We’re delighted by the enthusiastic use of our main arena by our equestrian groups and recreational riders. It’s clear that this space is valued by our community, and Camden Council is committed to keeping it a premier venue for equine activities.

To maintain the arena’s quality and enhance safety, we’ve made the decision to reserve the main arena primarily for competition events. This will help preserve the grass surface and soil structure, minimising wear and reducing any potential slip hazards for horses.
By focusing on competition use, we can better allocate resources to keep the arena in peak condition. Starting today, the main arena will be secured with key access provided only to competition event organisers, with signage to be installed soon.

As part of this commitment, we’ll be increasing maintenance activities after competitions, including:
• Regular irrigation
• Topdressing
• Fertilising
• W**d management
• Aeration
• Mowing to an optimal grass length

We’re also progressing the installation of permanent irrigation for this arena and others and are actively working to secure funding for a complete resurfacing project of the main arena, with advanced drainage to complement the irrigation.

For training and recreational riding, riders are welcome to enjoy the three other fully fenced arenas and the open parkland space within the park. Training and practice event organisers will be contacted separately to arrange the relocation of training and practice days for 2025 and beyond.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we work together to enhance and preserve this valuable community facility for the safety and enjoyment of all our park users.

Great news!

The repair and reconstruction of the bridge between the Main and PoloX arenas is now complete and is reopened.

Park users should note that the bridge is covered with fresh crusher dust, which remains loose and will need time to settle so please use with care.

Please be advised that the Main Arena remains closed for ongoing maintenance and watering. We ask park users to avoid entering the arena for the next 10 days.

They will be located throughout the park including a new twin set near the Pony Club and renewal of all existing sets around the Southern Arenas.

Please be advised that a scheduled chemical application for w**d control will be taking place at the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park on Tuesday 17th September in the 3 fenced arenas (Main, Polocrosse and Pony Club)

As a result these arenas will be closed and locked to the public for a period of 3 days to ensure the safety of all visitors. We anticipate the arenas will reopen on Friday 20th September but will notify users should any changes arise. The rest of the Park remains open.

The chemical being used is "Spearhead" by Bayer. Label and SDS can be found here https://nuturf.com.au/products/plant-protection/spearhead-herbicide

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time, as this application is important for maintaining the park's grass health.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello Recreational Riders,

Just a friendly reminder to clean up after yourselves when using the Horse Yards and Wash-bays at the Park, so everyone can continue to enjoy these facilities.

All we ask is that users sweep or blow all bedding, manure, and feed from the yards and wash-bays onto the adjacent grass areas, where it will be mown by Council mowing teams.

Your small effort makes a big difference in keeping our community facility clean and inviting for all.

Thank you for doing your part! 🌟

We want to remind all Recreational Riders and Carriage Drivers that, in accordance with Council policies, access to the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park requires you to hold a current Park membership.

Registrations run for up to 12 months and all commence on July 1 of each year. Fees are payable in advance and are pro-rata the annual fee per 3 month period (i.e. charged for 12, 9, 6 or 3 month periods). 12 months annual membership is $120, however, if you register now it is only 75% ($90) of the annual fee and is current until 30th June 2024.

As riders/drivers are NOT covered by Camden Council insurance it is the duty of the rider/driver to provide evidence of personal insurance coverage of his/her equine usage of the park. Membership of EA or Pony Club typically provides suitable insurance cover. N.B. Home and Building Contents Policies, including N.R.M.A. and other similar insurers, DO NOT provide liability coverage for this park usage.

To purchase or renew a Park membership it is a 2 step process.

1. Register on Councils Bookable system – use this Bookable link https://camden.bookable.net.au/ #!/register

2. Once registered purchase your membership – use this Link and click “Book Membership“ https://camden-events.bookable.net.au/ #!/event-detail/ev_94d9773728f6493c8eb40b2f384793ad

You must first be registered in Bookable before purchasing your membership.

We have also reintroduced a “Membership Saddle Tag” system. The tags are color-coded and should be carried and displayed with you whenever you ride at the Park so we can more easily identify financial members during our regular spot checks of park visitors. Tags will be sent out as registrations are processed.

If you have any issues please contact Camden Council on 13 CAMDEN (13 226 336) or email at [email protected]
