Arthritis can slow our dogs down, especially in the cold weather, but with the right management, they can still enjoy a happy, active life! Here are a few tips to help your canine companion stay comfortable:
1. ⭐⭐⭐ Keep them lean! This is the most effective way to improve joint health! Successful weight loss comes predominantly from dieting, and fasting is a great way to achieve that! Maintaining a healthy weight drastically reduces stress on their joints.
2. 🚶Gentle exercise: Regular and low-impact are the key factors. For instance, a daily 15 minute walk. Avoid strenuous, irregular exercise, e.g. free running in open area once weekly. This can cause fair amount of trauma to the joints.
3. 🛋️ Comfortable bedding: Provide a soft, supportive bed to cushion their joints while they rest.
4. ♨️ Provide warmth: This improves circulation and perfusion of joints, therefore reduce stiffness.
