Pet Bather

Job Duties:
- Perform duties such as bathing, drying, brushing, nail clipping and ear cleaning on dogs.
- Responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the salon.
- Provide quality care to all animals.

Requirements:
- Must have a passion for this field of work.
- Must have excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Positive workplace attitude.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, confident and trustworthy.
- Excellent communication skills and personal hygiene.
- Quick learner.
- Physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
- Must be open to constructive criticism.

Availability:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

We are so sad to share this news but also SO excited for our girl, Emily, to start her new journey in life. As she’s finally finished her last working week of her career at Barking Barber, she sets off to have some much needed time off before she starts up her full time studies at University.
Emily started working for us when she was only 15 years old. She will be so missed by us, and our amazing client base and their beautiful fur babies. She has been such a valuable asset to our team, and her future employers would be so grateful to sn**ch this young lady up. Thankyou for being a great worker, and an even better friend to us, Emily. And we wish you all the very best for your future endeavours. ❤️

A note from Emily to our clients-
After 5 years of working at Barking Barber, today was my last day. I want to thank all the clients for their unwavering love and support I have received over these past years.

It’s been such an honour to get to know all of the clientele. I love hearing about how you’ve been and the stories of what you’ve been up to the past few weeks. And thank you for the trust you have given me and letting me look after your fluffy children.

I love all the dogs that come in with all my heart. I know I’ll never forget all their little quirks and love they’ve given me. It’s been an honour to get to know so many little furry friends and their unique personalities.

And thank you to Natasha, Amber and Ella for making my last year so full of love and support. And best wishes to Charlotte on her new journey at Barking Barber.

I have learnt so much and received so much love over the past 5 years and I will never ever forget that. I’m so thankful for every one of you.

Can’t believe 2025 is just around the corner 😲😲

Why do we recommend prebooking your appointments? 🖊️
Well, it’s easy. Grooming is a necessity for your pets.
As you’re all aware, it can be so difficult getting an appointment with groomers as they’re always fully booked or booked out weeks in advance. By prebooking your appointments, you save your dog a spot with us every X amount of weeks and you don’t have to worry about trying to get in last minute. We all know it’s nearly impossible to get in anywhere last minute! 🫣 And it’s much easier to cancel an appointment rather than book one in.
How often should I see a groomer? ✂️
This depends on a few factors. Eg: your dogs breed, their coat type, their activity level, are they indoors or outdoors and what length their last haircut was..etc.
If you own a grub (hehe) someone who likes to dig, roll in (or eat) animal 💩, swim in swamps or they’re just overall thriving in chaos yet living their best life, you’d look at visiting a groomer every 2-3 weeks.
Hygiene grooms - 5-6 weeks.
Full clips - 8-10 weeks.

🐾 Just a friendly reminder that your dog may stay with us anywhere between 2-4 hours when they are at their appointment.
Please refrain from walking in to ‘check on your dog to see if they’re ready’. This can disturb your dog and can make the rest of the groom dangerous as we are dealing with scissors and movement. ✂️ You will receive a text once your dog is all finished and ready for collection. However, if you are curious as to a finish time for your dog, you are welcome to text us, instead of show up to the salon and we will be happy to text you back with a rough finish time. 🫶🏽🐾
Please remember that dogs have incredible eye sight and sense of smell. If you stay hovering out the window and door, your dog will see you and smell you. Again, this makes finishing their groom difficult as your dog would only have tunnel vision for mum and dad, and their good behaviour for us would go out the window. We hope you all can understand how important it is for us to have your dogs remain calm, and still. 🫶🏽

Luna blessed us with the sounds (screaming) of her people for a good two hours today. 😂 Siberians are theeee most talkative breed. Except she got a little camera shy every time the phone came out 🥲 So if you heard loud screaming coming from the shop today, this was the culprit right here. 😭 Emily did a fantastic job with her groom! 🥹🫶🏽
