This wonderful video was made by Hannah who is doing her last shift with us today. Hannah started at Cat Protection when she was still in high school, and it has been our great privilege to have such a compassionate and dedicated animal lover on the Feline Services team. Over the years Hannah has helped hundreds of people find new furry family members through adoptions and been an attentive foster carer for many kittens in need of extra TLC 🥰

🐈⬛ 🦎 🐬 🐝 🦘Today we celebrate World Animal Day, which is in its 99th year! 🐒 🐕 🦇 🦒 🐈
It all started back in 1925 in Germany, when Polish writer, publisher and animal protection activist Heinrich Zimmermann organized an event in Berlin that saw 5000 people attend.
From this day, Heinrich worked hard to promote World Animal Day. In 1931 his hard work paid off! At a congress of the world’s animal protection organisations in Florence, his proposal to make World Animal Day recognised worldwide every year on October 4th was accepted unanimously.
