Meet Billy - a city boy from Melbourne who discovered that Queensland’s humidity isn’t always kind! He’s rocking a skin infection and looking very unimpressed with his holiday souvenir. Sending him lots of love from our Noosa team as he gets the care he needs. 💛

Tonight on ABC My Business, our very own Dr Cara Roic, Vet Director at Greencross Vets Preston, shares how Heidi Health’s AI medical scribe is transforming veterinary care.

With nearly 29 million pets and only 15,000 vets in Australia, clinics are under pressure - but Heidi Health is helping our teams by reducing admin time and supporting thousands of consultations each week.

That means vets can focus on what matters most: delivering quality care and building stronger connections with pets and their families.

Tune in to ABC at 7pm to catch the full interview!

💔 Parvo is truly heartbreaking.

This brave pup was lucky - strong enough to pull through after 3 weeks in isolation, receiving intensive, round-the-clock care.

Parvo is incredibly tough to manage. Dogs must stay in strict isolation, with our team fully gowned every time they enter the room. No outdoor walks, no playtime with other dogs, and very limited human interaction - just care delivered through layers of PPE.

The saddest part? Parvo is easily preventable with vaccination. 🐾 A simple step that can save so much pain, cost, and heartache for pets and their families.

We’re so proud of this strong fighter and our amazing team who helped them get through - and we want to remind all pet parents: please, keep your dogs up to date with their vaccines. 💚

Did you know Cats can get Osteoarthritis?

Scarlett is one of our senior patients that gets arthritis injections every month. Scarlett's owners noticed her slowing down and hesitating when she was jumping, on injections she is now brighter and getting up to mischief. 🐾

🚨 PARVOVIRUS ALERT – SOUTH-EAST QUEENSLAND 🚨

Greencross Vets are urging dog owners to keep vaccinations up to date as more parvovirus cases are being seen in the region.

Parvovirus is highly contagious, deadly and spreads easily - even via shoes, bedding or leashes. Unvaccinated dogs should be kept indoors and away from public places.

If your dog isn’t vaccinated, now is the time - this simple step could save their life. Protect your pup: book their vaccination appointment at Greencross Vets through the Petbarn app and keep them safe.

🫶🏼HAPPY WORLD VET DAY🫶🏼 Today and every day we honor the incredible vets who tirelessly dedicate themselves through routine check-ups to life-saving surgeries to keep our animals happy and healthy.

THANK YOU for
🫡your gruelling efforts in providing exceptional care and love for all our patients
💐constantly studying in order to improve your knowledge (even after a tough day at work)
😘supporting the nurses
🏩being a surgeon, emergency physician, dentist, internist, radiologist, ultrasonographer, cardiologist, dermatologist, nutritionist, anesthetist and much much more
❤️‍🩹always putting a brave face on and supporting clients when having heartbreaking conversations

Now it wouldn't be world vet day if we didn't acknowledge the struggles that the vets and the vet industry are facing right now do - mental health is still a huge issue in our industry and with such increasing pressures and staff shortages that clinics are facing, we need to focus on finding solutions to the problem and support our vets 🎗️❣️

It's not necessarily about getting more vets - it's about making sure we are respectful of our vets time, charges, support staff and capacity to see you. World Vet Day is our opportunity to acknowledge the important work they do, and thank them!❤️‍🔥

🎃PABLO🎃 this cheeky boy came in as he was caught eating some chicken skewers. His mum acted fast and bought him down to the clinic as she was not sure if he had ingested the skewer itself. With further investigation we proceeded with an Exploratory Laparotomy surgery (surgically open up the abdomen to explore the contents) as we were suspicious that Pablo ate the skewer stick and to our surprise we did find the missing part of the chicken skewer. Pablo is now fully recovered and hopefully has learnt his lesson🍢🤞🏼

So heartbreaking💔 but let’s make this last lap the best one ever🦮🐕‍🦺 show your support by joining the walk or donate to help fight against animal cruelty🎟️

For 30 years, amazing superheroes and their loyal pooches have come together for Million Paws Walk – the walk to fight animal cruelty. We have some news we want to share with you.

We have made the difficult decision to hang up Million Paws Walk’s leash for the final time, with May 2025 being our final national event.

Sadly, with rising event costs after the pandemic and the financial strain on animal lovers, hosting events like Million Paws Walk has become increasingly difficult. Unfortunately, these challenges have proven that Million Paws Walk is no longer the most effective way to raise money to help the animals in our care.

Each person (and pup) that has ever participated has helped to make an amazing difference for animals in need across Australia. Since 1994, over 768,000 people and 410,000 dogs have walked alongside us, raising an incredible $17 million to support RSPCA’s work to protect and care for animals. Our Million Paws Walk community has been an incredible part of this journey, and we’d love for you to be part of the final event - we have to send it off in style!

Grab your family, your friends, your pooches and your leads - and join us for the final time, at Million Paws Walk - One Last Lap! 60% off tickets, on sale now: https://www.millionpawswalk.com.au/find-a-walk
