💕Donation plea for Lexie💕
Lexie’s surgery, treatment and care has accumulated to around ten thousand dollars.
Whilst we would pay anything to save one of our fur babies, we need your support to build our funds back up 🙏
Earlier this week we thought we were going to lose our precious Lexie 😢
Lexie became very unwell on Monday night and was rushed to an emergency vet appointment, & she was sent home with meds on board but unfortunately became increasingly unwell overnight and was rushed to Rossmore veterinary hospital where X-rays confirmed the worst! ☹️ She diagnosed with GDV (Bloat), her huge gas filled stomach then started to twist upon itself which became a life threatening emergency which required urgent surgery to correct.
Rescue Hub were told that Lexie had a very slim chance of surviving surgery 💔 Her foster family and the RH team were beyond devastated 😢
After all Lexie has been through in her life already, we had to give her the best possible chance of surviving, we could not lose her no matter what the cost, and we did not give up hope 🙏
Emergency surgery was performed at Rossmore veterinary hospital. There was no time to transfer her‼️ To everyone’s disbelief, she once again beat all odds to survive and the surgery saved her life 😊 but she was not out of the woods yet.
She was transferred via ambulance to the Veterinary Specialists of Sydney where she commenced her post surgery treatment and care, as 24 hour care in the Intensive care section of the clinic was required, to ensure Lexie would survive. 🏥
Lexie was making progress but she was not eating. She needed an ultrasound and further treatment was required to get her gastro intestinal track working again. A few hours after the medication has been added to her intravenous drip; one of the volunteers took her some roast chicken, we knew she wouldn’t be able to resist this 🍗 and she started eating! Woo Hoo! She was on the road to a full recovery
