When we hear about dogs that have been at the pound for long periods of time, we can’t help but want to assist in finding them their forever home.
Camden Council Animal Care Facility have a beautiful long-termer who we would like to introduce you to…the dog you didn’t know you were missing - everyone, say hi to Ven!

Originally being called Venom, but realising this name is the opposite of everything this gorgeous boy is, he has now been nicknamed Ven 😊
As you can see from his photos, he will steal your heart with his handsome smile and those big paws!
Ven is a very sweet and affectionate dog who loves the company of his human companions.
He enjoys pretty much everything - whether it be going for walks and sniffing out his surroundings, or staying indoors chewing on his favourite bone, he is an all round happy fellow (this power chewer will need some durable, sturdy toys as he has a jaw of steel 🤭).
Ven gets along incredibly well with other dogs and would thrive living in a home with another canine. He also has a soft spot for children, making him an excellent addition to a family.
Ven is a strong boy, and like most shelter dogs, needs some basic training in areas like walking on lead and refining his manners. He just needs a human companion who has the patience, kindness and experience to guide him while he adjusts back into home living, and allows him time to decompress in his new home.
He is searching for an active, loving and secure new family 🤞
For a dog that has been in the shelter for so long, Ven still has high spirits and puts a smile on everyone’s face.

🎄 CHRISTMAS WISH LIST 📝

Our beautiful dogs + cats have been waiting all year to find their forever homes.
As much as this would be their ultimate Christmas wish, it looks like they have missed out on being in a home for Christmas once again ☹️
We know their forever homes are out there, and we will keep doing our absolute best to help them find their perfect match.
Until then, we want to spoil the dogs and cats that are at our Recue Hub kennels, and give them a Christmas to remember.

Each dog, and the cats, have put in their special requests to Santa - hoping to get donations to be able to afford their lovely gifts.

We’re so sorry Pace 🥺
We tried our absolute best to try and find you a home before you had to come back to the Rescue Hub kennels - but not one single person came to meet you.

The kennel environment is extremely difficult for a dog like Pace.
Although the volunteers will do everything they can to make Pace comfortable - he needs a home!!

**Please read Alina’s description carefully as she requires specific living arrangements to help her succeed in a home 🙏🏼 we know Alina won’t be the right fit for everyone - but we are determined to find her perfect match!

We saved this darling girl from death row a while back now, and she has become one of the most loved residents at the Rescue Hub kennels.
The volunteers adore their time with her, and have watched her grow and come along way since that defeated dog back at the pound.
Alina’s energy levels are the definition of chill. She is not high maintenance when it comes to exercise - she is happy with a short stroll to stretch her legs, or a quick game of fetch with her toys (more like ‘run and shake’ than fetch 🤭), followed by a day of lounging around.
She adores cuddle time with her humans, and would very much like the opportunity to be an inside/outside dog, so she can have that quality time with her people, while being able to enjoy the joys of nature outside aswell. She can be left alone during the day while you head to work.
Alina does well around other dogs. She walks past them calmly and can be off lead and in the same space, enjoying some sniffing and exploring together, however she does not appreciate bouncy/excitable dogs that get up in her face. She can become a little jealous when there is affection being shared with other dogs and her humans, so if there was to be another dog in the home, her human companions would need to be mindful of this.
Due to her past history, it takes time to get to know Alina. She is cautious of new people and it does take a few interactions to build her trust. Multiple meet and greets will be required for anyone considering Alina, so her new human companions will need to be patient, understanding and compassionate towards Alina’s big feelings until she sees that you are there to shower her with love.
The best way to Alina’s heart is through food, so having those tasty treats on hand is a splendid idea.
Alina is protective of her home, so she will also require a household that does not have regular visitors, unless there is an area where she can be moved to that is a safe and comfortable space for her to relax in while the guests are over (this does not mean being locked in a small laundry or garage - she will need to have a large outdoor run or something similar that she can associate as her safe space)
Moving into a home will be a massive adjustment for Alina after spending so much time at the Rescue Hub kennels.
It will be so important for her to have time to decompress, and learn the new rules and routines of her home. She needs people that are not going to give up on her for her first mistake.
Once Alina is settled, she is honestly the best companion anyone could ask for in a dog - loyal, affectionate and overall a happy girl.

Not all heroes wear capes…
Some are generous souls who welcome dogs into their homes while they wait for their chance of forever.

WE NEED FOSTER CARERS! ♥️
With the holiday break approaching and the amount of critical/urgent dogs being at an all time high, we need to build our network of foster carers to keep saving the lives of dogs.
We have dogs at our kennels that have been patiently waiting for their turn to join a special household, to provide them with love, training, security and stability until the right forever home becomes available.
We are also made aware of urgent/critical dogs on a daily basis, and at the moment, we are unable to assist with these dogs 😢 we simply do not have the space.
If we could expand on our foster carer network, we would have the opportunity to save these deserving dogs.
We are hoping for more long-term foster carers, as well as homes that have no other pets (we know these homes are tricky to come by, but we have hope we can find them 🤞)
If short-term foster suits your availability best, we would still very much like to hear from you.

‼️URGENT home needed for Pace ‼️

Pace is an absolutely stunning boy. He is a beautiful 4 & a half year old Doberman x Kelpie. He is loving, affectionate and loves playing with his toys. He will be your most loyal, best friend 🥰

Unfortunately his original foster carer became extremely unwell and was no longer able to care for him. Pace misses being in a loving home 😢

Pace has been receiving training at Canine Revolution in Coffs Harbour, and has been thriving in this environment.

He has had more than 10 enquires but not one of the applicants have progressed to the point of meeting this gorgeous boy 😩

If Pace does not find a home by Monday 16th December he will return to being housed in a kennel. This is not a situation Pace will cope well in ☹️

Pace requires:
- A house that has a bit of land so he can have space to run and get the exercise he needs 🏡
- A home with no other pets (Pace can walk past other dogs fine but he is still working on his socialisation skills with other dogs) 🐕
- Someone who will love him unconditionally! He loves humans and will be the most loyal boy 💙

SWEET HONEY is seeking a new home with a confident owner that is home more often than not, and happy to spend quality time with her. Honey will need to be walked in a low dog density area with a well fitted harness, she needs some pleasant time spent training with her to help her to be indifferent to other dogs passing by.

This sweetheart will keep you company, following you while you are going about your daily chores, she is always up for a game of tug and will sneak in a pat or cuddle whenever the opportunity presents. Honey loves chasing water and protecting her yard from birds. This sassy little miss will want to claim the sofa, so ground rules should be set early on.

Quite the peoples girl! Honey loves people, first greeting them with tail wags then she will lean into your legs for a delicious side massage. Although she has had limited experience with youngsters, she has been good with them when she has been around them, children over 7yrs of age should be most suitable for Honey. She has not lived with a cat and would most likely chase one.

Honey is a combination of inside/out pet who sleeps in her crate indoors, she likes nothing more than cozying up with her humans on the sofa. With a little time invested with her, and lots of love, Honey will make a most wonderful, loyal pet.

Another dog in desperate need that we just couldn’t ignore!

We have been made aware of a dog called Major that needs a miracle before next Thursday the 19th of December.
Unfortunately we are at capacity so we can not take him, however we want to assist as much as we can to help find him the home he deserves.

After a few heavy days of needing to assist urgent dogs - we wanted to start the weekend off with some tail wagging updates.

Last week we posted about Cheesecake and Pikelet who desperately needed saving…and we are extremely happy to report that they are both safe, and have secured foster homes 😊
Cheesecake is settling in well in her new foster home, enjoying her new toys and soaking up all the love and attention she is being given 🥰
Pikelet has been spending his week with us at the Rescue Hub kennels (making all the volunteers fall in love with him!) and he will be heading to his new foster home tomorrow 😃

We could not be more grateful and proud of our Rescue Hub community for the support you all show when dogs are in need.
