It’s going to be a hot day across NSW today ☀️
A general reminder to be considerate of our animals on high temperature days - let’s keep our animals safe by:

- Providing shade & fresh water: Always ensure your pets have access to cool, shaded areas and fresh water to stay hydrated.

- Avoid the heat of the day: Walk your dogs early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the hottest parts of the day. Their paws can burn if walked on the hot pavement. If you can’t keep your hand on the ground for 5 seconds, it is too hot for your dog!

- Watch for signs of heat stress: Heavy panting, drooling, or lethargy can be signs of heat exhaustion. Act fast if you notice these symptoms.

- Not leaving our animals in the car: Never leave animals in a parked car, even for a short time—temperatures can soar to deadly levels quickly.

- Cool your pets down: Offer cooling mats, ice packs, or a kiddie pool for them to enjoy.

Pace, Tux and Gus all have their kiddie pools to help them keep cool on hot days 😎💧

🎉💕BOWIE IS SAFE WITH RESCUE HUB🎉💕

This beautiful little DEAF boy, only 10 months old was in desperate need to be saved from a rural pound; just look at that pleading face!
We could not turn away and not try to help him,
We were very lucky that one of experienced foster families, agreed to accept Bowie into their home.
He arrived late on Thursday 2/1, and is already settling into his foster home with his older sister Bella and his wonderful family.
Bowie will be be available for adoption in the near future, the first person to meet him will fall in love with him.
He is so eager to please, and is such a well behaved and loving boy.
He is learning sign language already .
Welcome to the Rescue Hub family Bowie.🐶🌟

Do you have a heart of gold and a few hours to spare each week?
Rescue Hub is looking for long-term volunteers, and we’d love to hear from you!

Our animal rescue is 100% volunteer run. Without people dedicating their time, we simply wouldn’t be able to save the lives of animals in need.
It is an incredibly rewarding experience being part of a team that have the same passion - a great love for giving animals the second chance they deserve, and taking the best care of them while they wait for their forever homes.

Our shifts at Rescue Hub are across Monday-Sunday, with morning shifts starting around 9:00am and afternoon shifts starting around 3:30pm (each shift goes for roughly 2-3 hours).

What to expect during a shift:
🥣 Preparing food for the animals
🧹 Cleaning kennels, scooping up dog p**p and changing cat litter
🏃🏻‍♀️ Walking the dogs
💓 Spending time with the animals through interactions such as playtime, cuddles and basic training
🧽 General cleaning duties including washing dishes, laundry and keeping areas tidy

What we will need from you:
⏰ Commitment and reliability. We need people who are able to do at least one shift per week
♥️ Have a genuine love for animals. We have dogs, cats, a bird and goats
💪🏼 Be able to physically handle and walk medium to large dogs
☀️ Be able to work in all weather conditions - heat, rain, wind and cold weather
🐕 Be comfortable with getting dirty, having fur on you and a bit of slobbery love from the dogs

If you're up for a fun, rewarding experience and want to be part of something that really matters, please click on the link below to fill out an application:

🚨 URGENT ADOPTION NEEDED 🚨
One of our assisted adoption dogs, Bluey, is unable to stay at his current home any longer - HIS LIFE IS AT RISK!
Can you help save Bluey??
Please share everywhere around NSW 🙏🏼

🐾 Breed: Australian Cattle Dog
🎂 Age: 3 and a half years old
🏥 Health: Desexed, vaccinated and worm and flea treated
🐕 Animal companions: Still working on his socialisation skills with other dogs - preferable for him to be the only dog in the home, unless experience with the cattle dog breed. No cats
👧🏻 Kids: 12yrs+ who are dog savvy
📍 Location: Fairfield West, NSW

*Bluey is a working dog breed and needs a new guardian who can provide him with the physical and mental stimulation he deserves. This includes walks, playtime and training - please factor this in if you wish to enquire 🙏🏼

Bluey is a handsome boy who steals all the attention with his stunning blue coat and his cute pointy ears.
He is your typical cattle dog - smart, playful and loves to be a part of the action.
He enjoys being outdoors, especially playing with his ball. He will run his little legs for hours playing fetch if given the chance, or be the perfect companion for a long nature walk exploring his surroundings with you.
Bluey is a clever little man and likes to keep his mind busy - activities such as puzzle toys, interactive games and obedience challenges would be the perfect way to keep him engaged. He will thrive in a home that lives an active lifestyle and includes him in all of life’s activities.
This sweet boy really enjoys pats and attention - his tail will wag with excitement when receiving a good scratch! He creates strong bonds with his favourite people through quality time and genuine connection. He will be extremely loyal to his human companions and would do best having his people around more often than not.
Although Bluey has mostly been an outside dog, he would love the opportunity to be inside with his humans - getting to enjoy all the comforts a home can bring. As he is not familiar with being inside regularly, his new parents will need to be patient while he adjusts to his environment, including some guidance on toilet training.
Bluey does ok when meeting other dogs, however he can be a bit boisterous, so will need some guidance with his socialisation. He would be best suited as an only dog in the house for now, and no cats.
This incredibly sweet boy is searching for, companionship, stability and a life long best friend in a loving home - can you be the one to offer Bluey his new home??

We can see where they get their name from, because we have one very happy staffy right here! 😁

Tux was very fortunate to receive some Happy Staffy Co. toys for Christmas!
One of our fabulous volunteers, Alex, completed a 100km run in November where he raised funds for Rescue Hub. His goal was to reach $5k, and he did an incredible job to exceed this amount.
He had one small request for what the additional donations from his fundraiser should go towards - Happy Staffy Co toys for Tux!

This company clearly knows the Staffy breed!
Their toys are built tough for dogs like Tux that like to play and have a good chew, without destroying them in 5 seconds 🤭
We’re thrilled we are able to give Tux some quality toys to enjoy while he waits for his forever home 🐾
Thank you Alex for choosing Rescue Hub as your charity to fundraise for, and for introducing us to Happy Staffy Co!
We will definitely be purchasing more toys in the future.

At Rescue Hub, we are a small, dedicated and entirely volunteer-run team working to help animals in need.
Our team is made up of people who all have jobs, families, kids, and our own fur babies to attend to.
Despite our busy lives, we dedicate our time to Rescue Hub with one passion in common – helping dogs and cats get the second chance they deserve 😊
This work never stops, and it’s important to remember that we are all unpaid volunteers.
Every moment of our day, from kennel shifts and vet appointments to responding to emails and applications, is spent with the animals best interests at heart.
Our team’s responsibilities also extend far beyond just rehoming our animals. From maintaining the property our kennels are located at, conducting foster care follow-ups and arranging any necessary training, every detail is critical in ensuring the animals are cared for, supported, and set up for success.
Our work involves countless hours of behind-the-scenes effort. It’s a continuous cycle of hard work, and we take pride in what we do.

When interacting with Rescue Hub, please take into consideration that:
- We try our absolute best to respond to enquiries and applications in a timely manner, as our number one goal is to find our dogs and cats their perfect homes. These tasks take time. Please be patient with us 🙏🏼
- We understand the desire to save a dog or cat, but it's essential to realise that it’s not always as simple as it seems. Many people are well-intentioned but don’t consider that taking on a rescue animal requires ongoing commitment, training, and care. We have a rigorous screening process in place to ensure the best possible match for our animals individual needs. This process takes time, but it’s necessary to give each animal the best chance of success in their new home. If we get it wrong, the animal can end up back in the same situation they were in before.
- Animal rescue does not follow the standard business hours of work - it is a 24/7 role and situations can arise at any moment. We are here dedicating our time, even during the holiday periods. Please be kind and considerate when communicating with our team ⭐️

Thanking you all for your support and understanding
🧡🖤🤍

Special Shout Out 🌟

As the year comes to an end, we would like to say a very big thank you to founder Vic and his team at Muscle Republic.
Throughout this year, we have received donations from MSCR totalling a massive $6150!
We can not even begin to express how grateful we are for these generous donations.
Vic lost his soul dog, Charlie Brown, only a few months ago, and the love he had for his boy is so evident in these photos.
It is amazing to have the support of a company who truely values the joy and companionship a dog can bring to our lives.

Thank you Muscle Republic! We look forward to continuing our relationship with your incredible company in the future 🧡

With NYE celebrations commencing tonight, we would like to give a friendly reminder to please keep your animals safe 🙏🏼
Fireworks can be extremely frightening for all animals, and it is a time of the year when dogs and cats go missing the most.
Here are a few tips to consider:

Keep your animals inside: The loud noise of fireworks can make your pets fearful, which can cause them to try and escape. Even with high fences, there is a chance they could get out. Please treat them like any human family member and bring them inside.

Create a ‘safe space’ for them: Designate an area in your home where your pets are most at ease. This could be in their crate, in their bed or on the couch with you. Be understanding and considerate of their big feelings during this noisy time.

Play soothing music: This can help calm your pets and distract them from the loud noises caused by fireworks and other NYE celebrations. Keep all windows and doors closed to help block out these sounds.

Stay home with them: The most comfort your animals will get is from you. Please consider staying home with them, or ask a friend or family member to be with them, to help them stay calm and relaxed as possible.

We hope everyone has a wonderful New Year - one your furry family members can enjoy too 🧡🖤🤍

Last week we posted about beautiful Bouncer needing a foster carer.
After being taken to the vet by his previous owner to be euthanised, the wonderful team at King Street Veterinary Hospital thought this was unnecessary, and saved this precious boy by asking the owners to surrender him into their care.
There was a long journey down south for one of the veterinary team members, who brought Bouncer to a foster home on the Central Coast of NSW.
Unfortunately, this foster carer can no longer care for Bouncer, and we have until the 6th of January to find him a new home.
This poor boy has been let down and deserves to settle into a loving home - can you help us find Bouncer a home??

It’s Elaine here from Rescue Hub, and I have some great news to share…

BINDI HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Bindi is our little “pocket rocket” we saved from the local pound just over two years ago.
Since being with us, she has lived in foster homes, four to be exact!
Through no fault of her own, she had to continue to settle in new homes with new families but none were ever going to be her forever home.
This all changed in September 2024, when Andy and Helen came to meet Bindi with the intention of fostering her.
Andy and Helen later told me it was “love at first sight”, Bindi happily went home with them to start her new life.
Andy and Helen have been working hard on Bindi’s training (with the help of Waggy Travels Dog Training & Adventure Walks). She is always eager to please and is doing so well.
Bindi went on holiday with Andy and Helen and you could see from the photos and happy updates that they were becoming very attached to her. When I asked if I should start to promote Bindi, Andy asked me to hold off as they were hoping to adopt her.
Then in December, Helen contacted me to let me know she would like to start the adoption process, so that Bindi could be officially adopted for Christmas!
Andy received a card from Helen, stating that he was now Bindi’s registered owner on Christmas Eve…to say that he was thrilled is an understatement!
Here are his words: “Helen has just notified me of my present. The greatest gift of my entire life. We are officially now Bindi’s parents. This is the first time in my life I have finally become an official owner of my own dog. This is the greatest gift I ever could have received”.

Have an amazing life Bindi, you have finally found your forever home 🧡

369 days without a home!!
Tux deserves to be experiencing life in a loving, stable and secure home - one where he can receive the daily comforts and routines a home can offer.
Tux has such a bright personality - he always puts a smile on the volunteers faces with his playful energy, silly quirks and affectionate nature.
Please help share our beautiful boy so we can reach more people and find his forever home 🤞🏡

🐾 Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier
🎂 Age: 4 years old

🏥 Health: Desexed, vaccinated and worm & flea treated
👧🏻 Kids: Teenagers who are dog savvy
🐕 Animal companions: Fear reactive and still working on socialisation skills - will need to be the only dog in the home for now

A tail-wagging update 🐾

Lexie has found a long-term foster home! 🎉

For those of you who have been following along with Lexie’s story, you will remember that she came into our care in very poor condition, after a long period of being mistreated and neglected.
All of the volunteers took extremely good care of Lexie, giving her time to heal, rest and recover. As her health begun to improve, we started to see Lexie’s beautiful personality shine, loving every little part of her playfulness, cheekiness and affectionate side.
An absolutely wonderful family came along, and we knew it would be the perfect fit for our special girl.
Lexie has been settling in well, enjoying Christmas in her new home and being spoilt with toys and love, something she has missed out on for a long time.
She might still need some dental work and regular check ups, but we couldn’t be more thrilled for Lexie that she is finally back in a home that can offer her the comforts she deserves for her golden years.

Thank you to everyone who donated to Lexie’s fundraiser - this helped us to provide her with the treatment and care she needed before heading into her new home 🙏🏼 🧡

26/12/2024

After months of posts, and thousands of shares, not one single person came to meet Pace.
He was left feeling sad and confused when he arrived back to the Rescue Hub kennels - but all of our wonderful volunteers have given him affection and support, and reminded him of just how worthy he is.
We will keep sharing Pace until he has found his perfect home! 🏡 🤞

Our Story

Rescue Hub is a rescue group run solely by volunteers. We save the lives of dogs on death row, no matter their breed, age or condition. Ones that simply would not be alive today without our help. Some need extra training, others may need specialised vet work. Working with professionals such as behaviourists, vets and photographers, we save, rehab and rehome the dogs that have been abandoned and forgotton. Without our loyal supporters and donations (whether reoccurring or one off), we could not do our life-saving work. Rescue Hub is a registered charity with donations of $2 or more tax deductible. To see what dogs we have available for adoption visit http://rescuehub.com.au/adopt-me/
