Fabulous 3 days attending the Rodrigo Matos clinic. While the weather on Sunday was not ideal Miss Aria and I were not going to let rain steel the show.
Thx Sandy Rosenbrock for hosting Rodrigo and your fantastic hospitality. Also big thanks for risking a serious drowning to get a bit of video.
Thank you Rodrigo for your patience and generous sharing of knowledge. Looking forward to catching up again in 2025.
As always thanks to my amazing sponsor

And just when you think Iโm going to have to call for support to find these naughty ponies they turn up in the garden. Note to self โshut the garden gate!โ
Every evening no matter what has happened throughout the day Goosy Goo always makes me smile ๐. He is so happy for dinner. ๐ชฟ
And after the summer thunderstorm we are lucky and get a magical rainbow ๐ over Arandth. ๐๐๐ ๐

Christmas/New Year personal challenge.
2023 I bought a Pivo. I thought now I will be able to record some of my rides, be able to effectively assess my progress and keep a record of each horses progress. Mmmm reality has been nothing like that.
Why you may ask? Because the Pivo would have to be the most frustrating piece of equipment ever invented. Soo mind numbing that after a number of early failures I put it in the cupboard and thought to myself โwell that was a waist of money โ.
But during the year I had a few more goes with more success as long as I made sure all batteries are well charged ( very battery hungry), I remembered to put my phone onto do not disturb, I checked and rechecked it was on video and not some other thing that wanted me to invite my friends to a session. And that the sun wasnโt making you much shade and I remembered to not ride to close.
So between Xmas and NY I set myself a challenge. The PPP plus edit challenge. Thats Piaffe (reality poor pony trot), Passage (reality a little bouncier trot), Pivo (actually get more knowledgeable and comfortable using it) and then learn how to do basic editing of the videos.
So hereโs my results.
What I learned: when I feel like my ponies are making a really good effort you can hardly see the difference ๐ณ
The pivo is the most frustrating piece of equipment ever invented. Seems to depend on time of day which no doubt relates to shade etc, how well it follows me. Sometimes it just stopped resulting in lots of nothing. Consequently, there wasnโt a lot of usable footage of some of my unicorns ๐ฆ.
Also note to self make sure it is on video. For my Ave (buckskin) I thought it had taped some great work only to find it had somehow got on to teams or some such thing and wanted me to invite friends to my session and resulting video zero. ๐
But I did stick to my challenge and studied a tutorial on editing and had a crack.
And as a side benefit, apart from my reins being to long, and R
