KTR Standardbred Stud

KTR Bloodstock is a small standardbred stud located in the fertile region of Mudgee NSW focusing on breeding quality standardbreds.

KTR Standardbreds is a small Standardbred stud located in the fertile Mudgee Region of NSW. The Stud is owned and managed by Ty Robson and Kayla Volker. Ty, a third generation horseman, has been around horses all of his life. Firstly competing in the mini-trots and then progressing on to training and driving as a hobby with his father, Geoff. Although as a driver wins were achieved throughout the

State and at metropolitan level, Ty's biggest success as a trainer came when in winning the NSW Sires Stakes Final in June 2010 with mare Starryart. Kayla too has been around horses all her life, only with different breeds and events. Competing in heavy hose field days with draught horses, barrel racing with quarter-horses, and cross-country eventing with stock horses has given Kayla a wealth of knowledge in caring for horses. A career move for both Kayla and Ty in 2015 meant a move to far western NSW bought an end to training and driving standardbreds. After importing a selective band of fillies, mare and broodmares from New Zealand, it was decided upon to establish a stud to maintain our involvement in the sport of harness racing. Focusing on quality rather than quality, KTR aims to breed yearlings for the annual yearlings sales.
