We’re refiguring the whole shed at the moment, a lot of moving and cleaning happening.

Our fruiting room is getting a good cleaning and painting for a bigger production this year. We will be expanding and putting our name out into the bigger surrounding communities this year which is exciting.

In the meantime our mushrooms will be very limited and we’re sorry if you’re waiting for our mushrooms at Joseph the Green Grocer or Showgrounds market this Sunday. We were hoping to time this reno right but just didn’t happen.

We’ll update the process, thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for your great support this year, it has been a roller coaster!

We’ve learnt a lot, mushroom side has grown steadily thanks to your support but market garden side has gone sad due to lack of time and attention. All will change next year, hopefully the weather god doesn’t give up on us yet!

We’ll have a short break and be back on Jan 5th to The Green Shed.

In the meantime, you can still enjoy our mushrooms at Joseph the Green Grocer as usual or by messaging us to arrange a pick up - minimum order of $20.

Dear customers and new followers

Hi, we’re a husband and wife team growing no spray fruit, veg and mushrooms in a beautiful subtropical Tamborine Mountain near Gold Coast, QLD.

We started as a market garden and now we’re shifting to growing mushrooms due to my ongoing health issues and extreme weather conditions. Maybe one day I’ll cover what I’m going through for public awareness.

Although this is a family business, Q is still working in a different industry to fund the farm which means long hours of working and travelling at times.

I am mostly looking after our young child who requires a lot of attention. If she’s home, I CANNOT WORK.

Currently my diary is full of doctor’s appointments either for me or our child until the end of October and even though my heart breaks to say no to customers, I can’t fit everything in my schedule at the moment.

We are currently operating ONLY BY APPOINTMENT. Google says we’re operating during weekdays but for some reasons we can’t fit in ‘by appointment’ there.

Please use our website or message us to place your order. We need at least 24 hours of notice, 48 hours of notice will be greatly appreciated. We make our mushroom boxes by order.

Rest assured, this will change next year! We have some exciting news coming up and Q will be working less hours with his work, we’ll be expanding and looking into ways to serve GC and Scenic Rim residents.

Very pretty, almost like they’re flowering!

With the new recipe(mushroom mixture), their colour has been so vibrant. Such a learning curve last couple of months. We’re forever learning indeed.

Due to a high demand on both fresh lion’s mane and grow kit, you’ll probably see less lion’s mane at the Green Shed. We are also experiencing low yield at the moment so we’re working on correcting the core issue. There are some improvements but still the yield is not as much as we hoped for. More tweaking and waiting, otherwise plan B. We know how much you guys enjoy the lion’s mane mushrooms, so we’ll work hard to produce more. Pioppino mushroom grow kit trial We are experimenting different box options and the growing environment. Everyone’s home environment is different, some will have more moisture in the air naturally, some will not. Over spraying some varieties will be okay, some varieties like lion’s mane will not tolerate. It’s been interesting to watch these pioppino mushrooms growing in an indoor setting. We have been using a dehumidifier pretty much all day and you can see the last couple photos they look quite dry and even some cracks appear. You can also see at the last photo they passed the prime harvesting time so looking quite dry and woody. We’ll update once we’re confident of the new release, this is another great variety for kids to observe. Stay tuned. #kaikaifarmau #mushroomgrowkits #pioppinomushrooms
