Both infoal to Tarmac Rocky Rex a black and white Drum stallion owned by Maddi Giuliano Bright Performance Horses
Rosa is โdueโ in 79 days
Classy is due in 115 days
Iโll upload Classy in comments ๐ด๐
Put the gear on very briefly between finishing work and school pick up, quick walk and little trot on each side as the round yard needs a base put down so itโs not slippery so until then it will be just easy stuff figuring out each other, what a stunner she is ๐
Welcome to the crew Miss Zebbie!!
4yr old thoroughbred mare here on lease to have a bubba for us, our tactics may have to change as she isnโt as roomy as I thought she may be but she will have a nice foal regardless and now the choice will be slightly different, I always look to see what the mare can potentially carry especially for a maiden, watch this space for her updates ๐ด๐ช๐
Havenโt posted much lately but today Miss Classy had a make over and sheโs back up the front paddock so she can put a bit more weight on, she is 106 days along in her pregnancy and looks healthy!!
Will she give us another coloured baby and will it be another filly or a c**t this time ๐ด
Thank you Prized Ponies for another beautiful collar, fast production and delivery, recommended these guys highly 5โญ๏ธโs๐
Rosa had her heartbeat scan yesterday and here is her bubba pumpin away she is due around the 7th of November 2023 ๐
Indy had a pregnancy scan and unfortunately she is not pregnant ๐ข but we are lucky enough to be able to carry her through to next season and try again with her ๐ช
Now we just have to wait for classy to be scanned on Thursday so crossing fingers for a positive result ๐ค
Merry Christmas from our family to yours๐
Itโs been a 12mnths of many ups and a few downs but we have made it through another year in somewhat trying times with covid and floods, breeding taking longer than anticipated but again we have all succeeded and survived the year ๐ช just a few more scans for the mares to confirm pregnancies and heartbeats then we are done till foaling time November 2023
May you all enjoy your Christmas Day with family and your loved ones, stay safe and have a very merry day.
Lots of love from Trav, Zack myself and all our furbabies here at H.M.S Equestrian ๐๐๐
Things donโt always go to plan but there is always another plan out there!!!
Itโs been a tough and stressful few weeks trying to get this breeding season underway here for many reasons, itโs been a very tough breeding season for most as mares arenโt doing the normal things and itโs been put down to the weather and the animals who know best at the end of the day!!!
But we have had a successful live cover with one mare and now itโs up to her to do what she feels is right for that potential pregnancy and we will find out in the coming weeks if she has taken, itโs up to her now we have set her up as much as we can humanly and given it the best possible chance of success๐๐
We have two more to go with this beauty so all our fingers and toes and anything else that can cross it will be a successful season here ๐ช
No disclosure will be made about the stallion until a positive pregnancy has been confirmed not because of him but I just want that for me as a breeder and I canโt thank those involved enough for making this happen, I will mention them at a later date because they all deserve as much thanks as I/we can give them for their help and above and beyond commitment and if they see this you know who they are ๐
Just spent a beautiful half hour to hour or so with the young stock, I try my hardest not to over face the young ones and just let them be babies and let them decide if they want contact or not but I do have to feed out so they do get into a routine of human contact regardless, Stormy and her paddock buddies duchess (who we think is in her 30โs and princess about 12-13yrs old), Stormy wasnโt so interested tonight but did come for some hellos as I sat with the other two and surprisingly princess who is the most stand off and shortest being a miniature out of all the horses here was the most affectionate so Iโll take that lol, then I went and sat with Crystal and mumma Sparkles who decided I was on babysitting duty for a bit and went and did her own thing ๐ as I sat crystal came in for sniffs and stroking, I havenโt spent much time with her lately but she is so comfortable she doesnโt care where I touch or scratch her, she wrapped her neck around my shoulders and let me lean into her side, her owner had been here to feed out and she just wanted butt scratchs ๐
it was just nice to sit with them and let them choose to come and have loves if they wanted it without it being feed time, my phone was on the charge so I didnโt get videos.
For me the best moments are uncaptured because itโs free giving from them and not me waiting for the moment to be caught on camera or phone itโs just us in the moment ๐๐

Horses are so fragile even if they are big and strong. Long post ahead ๐ฅฐ
Today I had three in the round yard waiting for the farrier, spaced out trying to prevent an accidents that may or may not occur and me being overly thoughtful about what could potentially go wrong!!
They were happy with their hay nets full to the brim, Iโd groomed all of them and was just wasting time really and went to the car for something which was parked right beside the yard so I didnโt go far.
Next thing I hear one of them trying to pull back, my immediate thought was Dags cause he does that occasionally ๐คฆโโ๏ธ but it was one of the others, so quickly went back into the round yard to find the horse had broken off thankfully but she was standing like a cat stretching, I got hold of her and she wanted to roll, so my first thought was colic, so I walked her and she would stop and stretch again and then wanted to roll, so yep thinking colic for sure and she was sweating up fast but no other signs before that while I had been with her the whole time, I got her up walked a bit more and by this stage I was trying to contact the vet due to seeing some abdominal changes, she got down again but I stopped her from rolling.
After getting her up she seemed to just go back to some what normal I guess, she wanted to stretch out a few times more but also wanted to eat and was alert again as if the pain had subsided, she stopped sweating but was sore I could see that, so then I thought maybe she received a kick from the other mare but it wasnโt sore to palpate the area, now Iโm thinking she got a massive case of cramp if thatโs even possible from pulling back because sheโs now back to her normal self albeit a little sore (I know I get sore from major cramps) I will do some investigating as to whether horses can get cramps this severely or not!! She has also presented in season today.
Here are some photos from when it first happened to about two hours ago at feed time, sorry for the long post but I have found it a very interesting afternoon ๐
Crystal had her first rug and fly veil on today I just need to adjust the nose flap a wee bit so she can drink haha
Sparkles wasnโt so keen for her baby to have a rug on so I have taken it off but will keep putting it on and off till she doesnโt care anymore, she also had spray on today for flies and the mozzies, some of my big horses wonโt stand like this let alone with no rope on them lol this little lady just keeps pulling it out sheโs so good ๐
I have to add the video separately ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
We are safe but I donโt think we quite expected this!!
Horses are all up on high ground and got extra feed and hay both this morning and this afternoon, poor crystal has had to endure the wrath of nature but she is in fine spirits and even had some scratches, I was going to move her to the old cow shed but the floor is under water and with high winds itโs just not safe so she is going to be a tough little mouse and stay out!!
Our hearts and thoughts are with other property owners and please stay safe out there and hope this incredible event passes soon ๐๐
The girls are looking an absolute picture of health and will be ready to go get in foal in a few weeks time, canโt wait for these babies!!
The glamour child this morning at breakfast time, unfolding nicely and canโt wait for a few more weeks for her to fill out ๐ช๐
I have rugs hanging everywhere trying to dry, 11 in total ๐
Just when I had put all the winter weight rugs away we get a super cell coming through so back out they came ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Not only do we have new life here at the property with crytstal but we have some new agisters ๐
Meet Holly the quarter horse bay mare and Marylyn the pally dressage beauty, all the way from Melbourne!! These beautiful girls had their pics taken for their owner today as I am in contact with all my horse owners or pre owners constantly to show their horses progress etc.
These two are so different to my own horses and the routine we have but they will get there as they all do ๐
We look forward to taking more agisters in the near future ๐
IGG test results back in and she had a whopping 954mg/dl, way above the recommended 800, this test tells us how much colostrum she has taken in which hold critical immune antibodies for her, if I remember correctly stormyโs was about 854mg/dl.
Vet said โshe is a strong big filly and very unique and all you have here Helen is unique beautiful foalsโ the property must be blessed lol no itโs a game of chance with breeding, itโs like forest gump says โlife is like a box of chocolates, you never know what youโll getโ in some circumstances you do but for the two foals born here it was all up to the colour gods as to what would come out ๐๐
Video of crystal finding her legs a bit more today and doing a rein back naturally ๐
We have plugs tonight!! I left her out in her day paddock last night because I had a very early start at work this morning (was up before 4am and left home at 4.30am after checking her) so sheโs back in foaling paddock tonight under surveillance ๐ we also had two new arrivals this afternoon on agistment, holly and Marilyn which I will post pics of in the coming days, one is at least a completely different colour to the bays ๐
Helen Sheehy
After feeding up and doing the nightly check I have decided to bring sparkles into the foaling paddock, I donโt think she will foal in the next couple of days but she has changes happening so Iโm not going to ignore them even if they are very minimal ๐ her tail swishing is for the flies and bugs at this stage as they are driving all of the horses nuts!! so she will start coming in at night and can go out during the day until she starts saying otherwise ๐๐
Foaling cam is now set up ๐๐ right outside my bedroom French doors ๐ช
Miss Classy having an extra pick of grass on this beautiful spring day๐ฅฐ๐
It was miserable weather yesterday and the same again today ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
So I decided to drag out the leather cleaning gear and do my good bridles a favour and clean them ๐
3 done now just have to wait for the weather to fine up so I can use them, I have the farrier and dentist coming on Wednesday for dags so there should be no excuses after that ๐ฅด๐ซฃ Helen Sheehy
We have had a lot of rain in the last few days (for us itโs been a lot lol) and we have two creeks join into one, they start way up in the hills and that water fall takes anywhere from 24-48hrs to arrive at us from up there, in total in our rain gauge which I donโt think is completely accurate as I need to reposition it, but over the last 3 days Iโve tipped out close to 50ml!! So add on what has come down from the hills (their ran fall is much higher than ours) and itโs probably closer to 75ml ๐ฅด
We are very lucky here that it quick draining and dries out relatively fast so a few days of sunshine and it will be on its way to drying up again.
Our tanks are full and for the first time over flowing since we have been here ๐ช
Sparkles is doing all the right things and changes are taking place with 3wks till EDD date, if Iโm close to the gate now when I go to open it she nudges me as if to say hurry up Iโm starving which sheโs obviously not๐๐ sheโs as wide as she is tall ๐ฌ

They are both pissed I was late for feed time and I moved Duchess, princess and stormy to a new paddock ๐ bloody big boof heads they are ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐๐ Helen Sheehy
Exciting!!!! The first of the Woodshield posts are going in!! This one is part of our house fence which will be done first then we will move onto the horse paddocks hopefully by this afternoon if not tomorrow ๐ฌ๐
Doing our nightly checks (one of many but this is the last physical one before the camera goes on and she is left in peace except for duchess who is her company during the night ๐) she is softening up nicely through her muscles and her bag is now staying up during the day while out free roaming and not going up and down like it has for the past 10days or so, her vulva is still fluctuating a wee bit but still increasing in length everyday and puffing up ready to deliver this much anticipated baby, with stormy wet weather for the next few days I will be keeping a close eye on her as we head to her EDD on Monday the 10th!!! We have so much invested in our mares and foals, the time, the money, the selection of stallions, the feed bills lol that we try and let nature take its course but also take all precautions to make sure it all goes smoothly so we can have a safe and healthy foal and mare at the end but nature will do itโs thing and what will be will be ๐ค๐๐
Perfect spring morning for a stroll down the road, what are your riding plans today? Dags was feeling fresh and ready to pounce at anything that moved even the grass ๐๐
Miss Classy enjoying the sunshine, we are nearly at the 200 day mark in her pregnancy, only another 140ish to go ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐
Kids enjoying the almost spring weather today, Iโve left rugs off for the last few days and nights so they can rub their own coats out ๐๐
