🤎🖤 This sweet 19mth old German Shepherd has come to BlueTop Farm today for foster care until she can find the forever home she deserves. 🤎🖤
Life without a dog feels so empty, and yet tonight, even with the soothing sounds of a sleeping dog, my heart feels like it’s being ripped out of my chest all over again. 😔
The grief from losing my beloved Diesel is still so raw, but there’s a kind of healing that comes from helping other souls in need, and it’s devastating to realise just how many dogs out there need loving homes.
Please keep this girl in mind if you or anyone you know is considering adding a doggo to their life. 🥹

Scarlett absolutely loooooving her regular trips to the Dave McKinnon Clinics at Delmara Park down on the Central Coast… mostly because that means she gets a visit from Horse In Hand - Equine Sports Therapy! 🥳 After a few unexpected setbacks, were both feeling fantastic and finally gearing up for our first Medium start next weekend! 🤩

Well, our second attempt at xc schooling didn’t exactly go according to plan 😕 Turns out trying to jump with a niggling groin strain sustained in the gym last week was a bad idea! 🤦‍♀️
Thankfully BEX cryotherapy was on site so we managed to treat the flare up immediately to settle the pain and inflammation. For anyone who hasn’t tried cryotherapy yet, you really need to! Scarlett and I both swear by it, both for injury management and ongoing maintenance 👌

Dressage turned eventers… until the torrential rain hit at least anyway 🌧️ 😂 We didn’t quite get to start jumping in our first eventing clinic with Sharmayne Spencer at AELEC yesterday before getting washed out, but the weather is looking good for tomorrow! 👌😎
What started as “just some pole work for cross training” has quickly become a jump saddle and protective vest 😬🤷‍♀️ Both Scarlett and I are loving the variety though! Grace Kay you’d be so proud 🤣
So to all the riders stuck in their 60 x 20, get out of the sand box! Your horse will thank you, and you’ll actually have a lot of fun too 🥰

Quiz time!

You may wonder why we pull back into the syringe when giving injections in the vein. This picture explains why. We don't pull back to make sure we're in the vessel, we do it to make sure we're in the RIGHT vessel. Today I went to give an injection and pulled back and saw blood brighter than I wanted. I decided to go and get a new dose of sedation and once again pulled back and then gave my dose of sedation. The syringe on the left was my first injection and the syringe on the right was my second injection. Does anyone know why I shouldn't have injected that first syringe? And had I injected that first injection, what would have happened?
