The NCHA Classic Challenge first round commences today and KPH mare Peppyphlaire has had a last minute rider change with Paxton Pulford crossing the timeline first out in the first herd.

KPH Dash For Cash Highest Placed Lady Rider in Maiden

Congratulations to Kylie Barnett-Tapp and Smooth & Stylish Operator who took home the Highest Placed Lady in the Maiden. Sitting equal second heading into the Final on a 89 with fellow lady Rider Heidi Smith. Also making the final was Pia Steers, Rachael Flanagan & Meagan Macintosh.
Unfortunately for Heidi, Pia, Rachael & Meagan they only took home a camp score leaving Kylie back at fourth last out in the final to be the only lady getting a full course score of 84.

Kylie took home a $1500 cheque from KPH and some lovely Vaquera Brand Jewellery donated by Rodger Grant and a beautiful handmade saddle pad by Manilla Campdrafter Harley McIlveen from Made by Harls.

Congratulations to all our Ladies on a stellar performance and thank you to our sponsors.

KPH Dash For Cash Maiden Final Results

DAY 3 - KPH DASH FOR CASH MAIDEN

It was a beautiful morning and the KPH Dash For Cash maiden kicked off at 7am under the watchful eye of Warwick Lawrence and Jack Gallagher.
From the 211 runs there were 40 horses on an 85 and up score into the final. Ben Hill was the highest place going into the final riding Hazelwood Mannequin on a score of 89.5, just half a point infront of Kylie Barnett-Tapp riding Smooth & Stylish Operator and Heidi Smith on Smith Family Gypsy Cat.
Phil Elliott run three horses in the Maiden to get all three into the finals , 2 of which were sitting on an 88.5 in equal 4th along with, Troy Palmer, Joel Duff, Wyatt Young, Ben Rossiter, Wade Miles & Tim Hollis.

But after the finals were run it was Carl Green on Contreau with a final score of 176.5 who took out the $10,000 winners cheque a clear 2 points infront of Wyatt Young on Starh Controvesy and Half a point behind Wyatt was Troy Palmer on Binnia Shaquil.
The balance of the top 10 placings were secured by Joel Duff on GI's Midas Touch ( 173.5), Mat Durkin on Bulla Jackson Storm (172.5), Kylie Barnett- Tapp on Smooth & Stylish Operator (172), Brent Trotter on Vintage Whiskey (171.5), Phil Elliott on Del Feuego and Lane Pendergast on Cotton in a split for 8th (168.5) and Ben Rossiter on Miss Loreena Wood (110.5).

JIM LYONS AGENCY HIGHEST PLACED OPEN LADY RIDER

4 very accomplished Lady Riders secured spots in the KPH Dash For Cash Open Final. Amanda Hollis, Kylie Barnett-Tap, Christine Hall and Meagan Macintosh who secured two spots aboard her horses Amac Melody Man and Romantic Cat.

It was Queensland competitor Meagan who finished 12th in the Final aboard Amac Melody Man who secured the highest placed Lady Rider with a score of 176.

Meagan took home the $2500 cheque from Jim Lyons Agencies, and a lovely Pearl Necklace from Vaquera Brand from Rodger Grant.

BUTTSY IS BACK TO TOP DAY TWO!

After a fantastic round of drafting Saturday morning the leading score from Round 1 was John Turvey on Willinga Park Fable with a 92, half a point ahead of Ben McNaughton on Jango and Mark Buttsworth on Peps Double Rey. Rounding out the top 5 scores were Rob Leach on Hazelwood Congressman and Terry Hall on Brecks Shoulda Duck.

45 entries sitting on an 88 and above headed back to the KPH Open Dash For Cash Final. Despite the heavy shower that came over, the horse and riders kept up with some great scores , but it was Mark & Peps Double Rey with an aggregate score of 180 that took home the $20,000 winners cheque.
In a tied second place, 1 point behind Mark, was Stewart Boyce riding Ian and Carol Clarkes horse Charlie Roan and Matt Holz on Hazelwood Country Blue.
Rounding out the top ten were Ben Maytom, Mat Durkin & Troy Palmer on 178.5, Tim Hollis & Mark Buttsworth on a 178 and Adam Sadler and Aaron Hausfeld on a 177.

Friday night saw the running of the Garvin & Cousens Dash For Cash Cut Out event.
44 fierce competitors entered up, and all had their eye on the $5,000 winners cheque….
But it was the 2024 Willinga Gold Buckle Feature Cut Out winner, Mark Buttsworth riding Peps Double Rey who took the winners cheque home on a 45.5 point total, one point ahead of local Ben Rossiter and his horse Georgie.
Jack Breed and CTK Cricket rounded out the top three just half a point behind Ben.

🌞The sun has set on out KPH Dash for Cash and we have spent the night reflecting on our event and want to express out sincerest gratitude to all those who stepped in and volunteered to keep our event running smoothly.

We consider ourselves blessed to have had amazing people who offered to help in the backyards, assist out judges, gate people, office help, runners who kept our volunteers fed and even those who just helped with general advice along the way to make the event a success.

We hope you all make the trip for our next event!
