Canine Good Citizen & Behaviour in Public Areas

Monday 19th August
4pm

Meet at Fotheringham Park, Taree

Walking through town, traffic, shops & areas that are dog friendly.

Exposing your dog to explore public areas in a calm & confident manner.

Such a great experience & desensitisation for young puppies/dogs.
Assistance Dogs are welcome.

$10 per dog

Some of you have already seen n met beautiful Miss Tilly, she was the last puppy out of my cavoodle litter & I kept her home with me longer because she was flying over to Western Australia as a trained puppy.
We have been simulating all the experiences she has to cope with in a very busy Cafe lifestyle, to keep her calm & confident in all situations that she might face.

She is 5 months old now n had her 1st grooming experience. She went from rug rat to conditioned n tamed under Vanessa's expert guidance. Thank you so very much for the time and care you took for her very 1st experience! It's such an important part of training to stay calm & accept the process of grooming..... it definitely takes practise with those big loud dryers!

Last photos are the finished product from Floof to finese, all ready for her flight to Perth!

Oh how I love to see these happy faces each week!
Such good puppies practising Cafe training, waiting on the mat, and practising extreme self control for the young ones!
The Cafe staff have all noticed such a huge change in behaviour from our 1st meeting to yesterday! Even they commented how well behaved the dogs all are!
Couldn't be prouder everyone!
Great job!
Staying still takes practise!

SATURDAY MORNING DOG WALK & CAFE TRAINING

START TIME:
9am till 10am

Come and join us for a group walk along the Manning River at 9am.
Great exercise for you and your family in a supportive environment.
Enjoy a coffee & chat in a relaxed dog friendly environment, while practicing Doggy Cafe etiquette. Please bring a towel or cushion for them to sit on.

Ok you all totally got me yesterday!!
I had no idea what you had all been planning!

I was training yesterday at Old Bar Tavern on the most beautiful sunny day for classes...

I turned around to start the next class & there was the most beautiful little table set up with Jess's famous award winning chocolate chip cupcakes (omg they are soooo good) & a beautiful banana 🍌 cake with lemon icing with Happy Birthday!

Thank you so very very much everyone for the lovely surprise, I have never stretched Bday season out so far! It's a new record!

Seriously I'm so blessed & grateful to have such a wonderful community of beautiful souls to surround our dog community. I am so lucky to have met each & everyone of you, thank you for making my extra day so special!

The gift pack I will definitely put to good use, feeling very overwhelmed by all of your generosity!

Matthew says thank you also for his Bday gift, 21 this year! I have no idea where the time has flown but I couldn't be prouder of the young gentleman he has become.

This was our yummy Christmas platter to share! Thank you so much to Old Bar Tavern for our platter n surprise Birthday cake - you are all awesome! All our dogs were so well behaved n I just love being able to celebrate with all our dogs attending as well! It's a win win for everyone! Results of our Intermediate dogs are; Wait task... All new for Miss Persia today n she recalled beautiful for her mum, even though there was amazing smells coming from those lonely hotdogs...like just there!!!

Ohh proud mum moment! Daisy is the youngest dog on the field today was a day of 1sts for her... She did so good first time with recalls through the hotdogs!!! She listened n she recalled. Dogs have to be allowed to make mistakes to figure out what you want from them....n being in her teenage years im getting a lot of back chatting n creativity in the things im asking her to do.. my little wildchild!

Cassie is so focused on being a good dog for her mum that she forgets to do the recall bit.... Definitely an over achiever in Waits n Stays!

Has anyone owned a Labrador? Does anyone truely understand just how hard it is to go past food?????? He tries his hardest but......it's sooo tricky!! This dog is amazing n a champion in his own right for holding off as long as he could...bless him!

Benji I loooove my food n this challenge is waaayyy toooo hard! Let's see what boundaries i can push....lol

Ohh mum sorry was just Toooo tempting! Why do we love all the naughty dogs??? lol

Kelpies can do it tooo!!!! Such self control....but he loves n listens to his mum first! What a good boy!

Annnddd of course the 'Walk of Terror'!!! Additional fun & terror for all owners...lol Past 6 strategically placed hotdogs & buns with a recall through the middle of them...... such self control!!

The photos truely just dont do them justice... so a video will show you just how happy n playful these little ones were....n how fast a tail can wag!! Warp speed wagging is a thing....lol

Today is Tenzin's 16th Birthday! Some will remember what a powerhouse this dog used to be! Today he is very elderly n frail but still willing to be part of any fun things to do, at his own pace. Dogs come into our lives usually at just the right time to help show us a part of us that we need to work on..boundaries, emotional fitness, empathy, companionship, fun etc etc.....sometimes to guilt us into fitness every single day, rain, hail or shine lol those puppy dog eyes are the biggest motivators! Tenzin came into my world and totally changed my life when i had just lost my mother 8 years ago. Im forever grateful for those gentle pushes into my world to turn it around with renewed purpose. I look back now n see clearly how much i owe this beautiful soul that changed my life! Treasure the elderly ones it is a gift given to only a few! In doggy years Tenzin is now entering geriatric and palliative care phases of his life and is treasured beyond measure!
