🦠PARVO VIRUS🦠
Tenterfield and surrounds are currently experiencing a parvo virus outbreak🐶 please ensure that your dogs are up to date with their vaccinations to prevent the risk of contracting this very cruel and life threatening virus.

Common signs and symptoms are-
🩺 loss of appetite
🩺 vomiting
🩺 diarrhoea which may contain blood
🩺 abdominal pain
🩺 high temperature
🩺lethargy

Parvovirus is life threatening and treatment can be very expensive with hospitalisation in our special isolation ward and dedicated nursing staff and vets.

Luckily prevention is simple. Parvovirus vaccination is a very effective vaccination and inexpensive. From around $100 it is cheap to look after your precious pup. We also have 3 yearly parvovirus vaccinations available for adult dogs and working dogs.

Just a quick update for everyone who fell in love with Olive the black and white cat, while she was hanging out in our reception area a few months ago.

Olive is living her best life 😀😻

***Changes to our AFTER HOURS service***

With increasing demands for emergency after hours consultations, we have made a few minor changes.

***Note: There is no change in our availability after hours for our regular clients and ongoing cases. IN FACT our regular clients receive an approximately 20% discount off the after hours surcharge, when they have an emergency.

*** Due to the high demand for after hours services from non-clients, irregular clients, or clients and animals who have other regular vets who don't provide after hours services, we have had to introduce a higher fee for these clients, due to the added time and stress which these cases place on our staff. We also cannot guarantee availability. Our priority is our regular clients and cases. Thank you for your understanding.

Please join us in welcoming Dr Claire to our region. Dr Claire has been working at Tenterfield Veterinary Clinic for nearly 2 months, so many of you will have already had the pleasure of meeting Claire.

Claire is a patient, kind, passionate and enthusiastic veterinarian who brings with her a wealth of knowledge. Having worked previously in a mixed veterinary practice for a number of years, Claire brings with her the experience to help you to help your animal. Claire is happy to examine all animals both large and small.

Claire has also completed extra training in Equine Dentistry and enjoys working with horses and their owners to ensure their horses stay happy, healthy and comfortable and in the best of shape.

Claire also enjoys working with cattle and all types of small ruminants (goats, sheep and alpacas).

Claire has 2 cats of her own, and enjoys helping us to raise, foster and find homes for Kittens who cross our paths, through no fault of their own.

Be sure to say hi to Claire when next visiting the clinic.
