If you encounter a young bird on the ground your first instinct may be to rescue it. The chances are, however, is that you are witnessing perfectly normal behaviour and the parents are nearby.

If you remove the bird from the area it may be separated from its family for no good reason!

If in immediate danger (eg on the road) place the baby bird in a safe place close by so the parents can find it.

URGENT, if anyone is missing a female Jack russel/fox terrier please contact the clinic immediately.

We have had a member of the public hand in a hit by car dog needing medical attention. No microchip or collar is available to identify owners.

She was found on the Terang-Cobden road, just past the bridge.

She is currently receiving emergency care at the clinic.

Dr Tori did an amazing job, the cow with the stick injury into her abdominal cavity has had a great recovery and had a healthy calf 16 days after her incident.

Meet Benji!

Benji came to the clinic after injuring his paw. X-rays show he fractured all four metatarsal bones in his hind foot.

Dr Gavin performed surgery to realign and stabilize the fractures using K-wire pins.

Benji will now rest for the next 8 weeks while his paw heals.

Meet Stitch!Stitch came to our clinic as a stray cat with a degloving injury of his front paw (all of the skin removed)....

Meet Stitch!

Stitch came to our clinic as a stray cat with a degloving injury of his front paw (all of the skin removed).

In order to save his leg Dr Libby performed a bi-pedical flap. This creates a pocket of skin for the foot to heal in, allowing the skin to graft onto the paw.
The flap is then cut away, new skin on his paw and the graft site surgically closed.

Stitch is recovering well and has two more weeks until hopefully complete healing. He will now be an inside cat and is currently loving being spoilt at the clinic.
