Hi folks.
Exciting day here yesterday. The fire was right at the back fence when the wind changed direction.
I just wanted to give a massive Thank-You to the CFA, SES, Parks Vic and other emergency responders.
They were absolutely amazing!!!!
We all get busy with our stuff, likely take things for granted and probably get a little cynical at times but for me, it's worth taking a moment to reflect on how many wonderful people give up their time and effort to do wonderful things in the wider community.

I was down at Rosebud this morning trimming the Eroni's Circus horses.
It's kind of a privilege to see behind the curtain.
If you happen to be around over the next couple of weeks, please go and support them.
I feel like these acts just won't be around in years to come.

Gabe will be travelling to Italy to compete.
It's a tough life but someone has to do it😀

Fantastic effort by Australia, World Champions at the International Mounted Games.
Even better effort by Gabe Smith for being chosen as the most outstanding rider as judged by the open trainers.
I swear that their pony, Blu, would put his own shoes on if he just had opposable thumbs😄
Of course, none of this would happen without all the hard work by Mum and the family members so a huge shout out to you also!!!

Hi all.
For those of you who haven't received the news....I just received a letter from the Department of Agriculture.
In short, they have ruled out any infectious disease as a cause of the recent spate of horse deaths.
It is still very sad for those who lost their horses and my heart goes out to them.
It is good news though for the rest of the horse industry.
Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

I think I bring this up every year:
The shortest day of the year has been and gone, sugar levels in the grass are rising.
Spring is not far away and warmer than usual temperatures are expected this week.
Now is the time to get proactive and start locking up any ponies or horses with a history of laminitis.
PLEASE don't leave it until it is too late.
Remember, once they have had a laminitic episode there is very little I can do and vets are expensive!!
If you aren't sure of the steps to take shoot me a text and I will be happy to offer some advice.

Hey all. As I see so many people purchase horses with some pretty drastic conformation issues (effectively wasting their money), I was thinking of doing a series on what to look for, what is OK and what is definitely not. BREAKING NEWS:
Duncan is setting up a farrier business (weekends only) in the Drouin/Warragul area.
If you are wondering about the picture, he ABSOLUTELY INSISTED I use this as his cover shot.
Massive wa**er aside, he is a top notch, reliable farrier and will do extremely well.
On a side note, I was also going to add a topless picture but was strongly advised it would contravene the Geneva human rights charter. so bad luck!!

I hear many people say they have difficulty getting a farrier.
I can't speak for other farriers but below is the type of text/email that I am 100% saying YES to every time.

Hi. My name is Jane Doe. I am looking for a farrier to service my horses on a regular 6 weekly cycle.
I have 3 horses. 2 ponies for trimming and a T'Bred that is shod all round.
They are all easy to handle.
They are next due in 2 weeks but I can work around you until we have a regular schedule.
My address is 1 Awesome Avenue, (your suburb). I am available all day every Thursday and after 2pm Mondays and Fridays.
I am happy to pay cash.
