Guess what? Dragons haven’t disappeared, they’ve just become pocket-sized! 🐉😃

The Draco volans, commonly known as the Common Flying Dragon, is a fascinating species of lizard belonging to the Agamidae family.

Native to Southeast Asia, this unique reptile has captivated scientists and nature enthusiasts alike with its ability to glide through the air.

The secret to its aerial prowess lies in its patagia, wing-like lateral extensions of skin that allow it to glide from tree to tree in its exclusively arboreal habitat.

The Draco volans can reach up to 22 cm in length, including its tail. The patagium exhibits sexual dimorphism, with males sporting a tan to bright orange color with dark banding, while females display irregular patterns.

Despite its dragon-like appearance and ability to glide, the Draco volans is a passive glider or parachutist, relying on wind currents for its aerial movements.

Employment Opportunity - Truck Driver/Yard Assistant

David Walsh Gas is a local LPG supplier servicing a wide range of customers in southern NSW and northern Victoria. We are seeking a new truck driver/yard assistant, all-rounder team member, for our LPG depot in Tocumwal NSW.

The role will involve (but is not limited to):
• Delivering cylinders.
• Installing truck-fill cylinders.
• Filling LPG cylinders.
• Loading & unloading the cylinder trucks.
• Weighing & emptying cylinders.
• BBQ cylinders, which includes washing, painting, stickers, nets & filling.
• Receiving deliveries.
• Vehicle checks.
• Maintain cleanliness of the depot.
• For the right candidate, potential work driving LPG tanker.

Skills & Experience:
The role would suit a team player and all-rounder with a strong work and safety ethic.
Training will be provided.

Requirements:
Current MR drivers’ licence.
Team player.
Attention to detail & accuracy.

HR truck licence, Dangerous Goods licence & forklift ticket would be advantageous.

Employment Terms:
Full-Time (7:30am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday).

Award wage offered based on duties and experience.

The role will involve (but is not limited to):
• Scheduling LPG deliveries throughout northern Victoria & southern NSW
• Accounts receivable including invoicing & receipting
• Answer incoming calls & enquiries
• Other duties as required.

Skills & Experience:
Clerical, phone etiquette and interpersonal skills are essential. Including being competent with computers, strong ability in maths, attention to detail and accuracy. A well organised, active and independent person will enjoy the challenge of this position.

Knowledge of the LPG industry would be advantageous but not necessary.

Employment Terms:
Full-Time (9am – 5pm Monday to Friday).

Award wage offered based on duties and experience.

Back in December 2017, Rodney Buchmasser came into the DWG yard looking for some welding work.
David said “Yeah, I’ve got a couple of weeks’ worth, I’ll give you a go”.
Four years later, Rocket has said goodbye 😢.
He is heading back to Geelong, where his family is.
Rocket will be missed and as many of you know, customers and friends, the laughs will be less.
The David Walsh team would like to wish Rocket a safe journey on his new adventure……. and remind him not to be a stranger.

Duties & responsibilities include:

Dear valued customer,
We would like to share with you our on-going efforts to manage the way we are currently dealing with the various impacts of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to our business of LPG delivery.

No impact on LPG deliveries
• Our depot in Tocumwal NSW (border of NSW & Victoria) is running our usual service delivering to homes and businesses on a predetermined schedule or by request, depending on customer needs. Our tankers and the cylinder exchange truck is operational. At this point we do not expect any delays to their services.

Actions we have taken to mitigate potential impacts to our business and customers
• We have implemented a full range of workplace health steps in line with Government guidelines and we will monitor and maintain currency against these as they evolve from time to time.
• With regards to our drivers, when they deliver to your home or business we ask that you do not approach them. You can give them a wave .
• If you are visiting the depot we ask that you respect the social distance guidelines.

Any changes to your business
• If you are planning any changes to your operating model under the current circumstances including temporarily closing or limiting operations, please let us know at the earliest opportunity by calling 03 5874 2246 so that we can adjust your delivery schedule accordingly.

We will continue to keep you informed if the situation changes in regards to services being impacted or any other service disruptions.
