New hack track! And I was so impressed with Diego and Rosie I have never been so proud of a horse! Past road works, bus shelters, traffic. All on a loose rein.

Another brilliant KOHNKE’S OWN FACTSHEET, these are such brilliant resources, this one discusses gastric ulcers a common problem among many equine athletes. Lots of useful diagrams in this one to help you visualise what’s happening.

In this ESI newsletter from November 2023, there is some brilliant information on recognising and dealing with separation anxiety.

With the summer storms and recent grass growth boost, we’ve seen quite a few laminitis (founder) cases recently. As per usual Kohnke’s Own has a brilliant facts sheet containing information on how laminitis is triggered, as well as some great management techniques

Virtual Tevis Cup 2024 In 2020, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Western States Trail Foundation Board of Governors voted for the first time in history to cancel the annual Tevis Cup Ride. But we wanted to offer a way for our riders, crews, volunteers, supporters and lovers of the trail to still be...

I remember watching this particular racing moment on repeat at the time, amazing horse, unfortunate spectators, terrific technique. Sometimes the level of natural skill is impossible to ignore.

Horses are at the bottom of the food chain and live in a herd of their peers for survival, it only makes sense that they have a talent for reading emotions

Horses are incredibly good at recognising human emotions in your voice and expressions, why not use that to strengthen your bond?

Well today marks 600 days in a row of riding (and coincidentally Duolingo) 😂 the lessons I’ve learned so far maintaining this streak have been remarkable. One of the best over all lessons has been to ride like a kid! Go on that beach ride or hack! Leave the saddle in the shed and see how you go without it, you might just have some fun!

One of my RDA volunteers enjoyed a riding trip in Mongolia, and I am extremely jealous. So I thought I’d share this article I found on the Przewalski horse and the efforts to protect them.

These racehorses are shining examples of why friendship, forage and freedom are the keys to happy, healthy, and successful horses.
