What can be said about this sweet old man? This is Gimli. He's not a part of our breeding program. He's just deeply loved. We rescued him from an abusive life when he was somewhere between 2 and 4. It was just a month after we got married. He's been with us through it all. Moving, kids, life's ups and downs... a solid, dependable, trustworthy friend.
He's not very well. He's old, old, old, and his body is hurting and his eyes are dim, and his hearing is failing. But his heart is still full of love and goodness and gentleness. We don't know how much longer we'll have with him, but we know for certain he'll remain in our hearts forever.
This is the power of dogs. This is what they do. They enter your life and change it in such a wonderful and profound way. I truly believe dogs are a gift straight from God's hands to our hearts.
