🚨PSA🚨

We have had an increase in clients calling to book their new puppy in to be microchipped. Breeders are legally required to have any litters of puppies microchipped before selling/rehoming; this requires them to apply for a Breeder Identification Number (BIN) in order for vets or authorised implanters to legally be able to microchip.

If you have acquired a puppy that is not mirochipped, you are legally required to apply for a Breeder Exemption Number (BEN). This also allows the vets or authorised implanters to legally be able to microchip the pet.

If this is not done, it not only allows puppy farmers to go unchecked but vets or authorised implanters can be fined very significantly.

It does not cost anything to apply for either numbers and it doesn't cost anything to report a concern of puppy farming or illegal selling of un-microchipped puppies to the authorities.

Applying for either a BIN or BEN can be done through the below link:
https://qdbr.daf.qld.gov.au/information/dog-breeders/

Reporting a concern can be done through the below link:
https://qdbr.daf.qld.gov.au/information/concern/

For more information, please check out the Department of Primary Industries website or call your local vet clinic for more information.

Use the form below to tell us if you have concerns about a breeder or supplier of dogs and puppies. Your concern will be automatically directed for further action.

🚨IMPORTANT INFORMATION🚨

Tis the season for baby birds to be chirping and falling out of tree's! It is also the time of year where our wildlife carers get flooded with wildlife so we need your help to keep our native wildlife safe.

When to bring wildife to a vet:
- if injured or at risk of being injured (if there are dogs/cats/other predators close by)
- if you see the parents are deceased nearby
- i have little to no feathers/fur and its not possible to return me to my nest

It is illegal for members of the public to take wildlife home to care for - these animals need very specialised care and must be given to a registered wildlife carer who has the training and knowledge to care for them.

If you are unsure what to do, please call your local wildlife carer or vet clinic for more information.
