๐พ Teddys trip to the vet ๐พ
Dr Meg treated Teddy recently when he came in after having an upset stomach. Unfortunately Teddy needed to have surgery to remove a something that he ateโฆ..
Any guesses to what our beautiful 4month old baby Teddy decided to munch on ???!!!
๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
We are happy to say Teddy made a full recovery post surgery and still loves Dr Meg ๐
When you meet your beautiful pup for the first time ๐๐๐
Meet Floyd ๐ถ
Floyd knows thereโs only one way to recover from surgery.... and thatโs all snugged up in a heated blanket getting all the nurse love โค๏ธ
We agree Floyd ๐

Patient of the Week:
Fitzy the Staffy.
Fitzy presented this week after he became lame on his back right leg. Dr Dave found what looked like a puncture wound just above his knee.
We decided to put Fitzy under an anaesthetic and investigate what was going on. Check out what we found under his skin below!
Dr Dave pulled a 25mm splinter out of Fitzys leg, and a few other smaller ones towards the back of his leg.
He started walking on his leg straight away, and went home the next day!

Reducing anxiety in hospital patients.
Sending your fur babies to the vet to be hospitalised when they're sick, can be quite a stressful experience for both yourself AND your pet! There's new smells, new sounds and none of the comforts of their home...
Toowoomba Family Vets practices 'Fear Free' methods, along with many other 'drug-free' stress reducing techniques, which ultimately provide a better experience for all involved (and promotes our beloved pets to want to come back to visit us when they're feeling better!)
The video below showcases a patient of ours that was showing anxiety after her surgery. The first video has many auditory and visual stimulations and the hospital lights are bright and shining into the patients bed.
The second video depicts a much more relaxed and well patient, with calming music playing, half her cage covered by a dark towel and the hospital lights turned off.
What a difference! What are some stress reducing techniques you use at home for your pets? Comment below!
