We are blessed with the best clients 😻 It may be possible our patients don’t appreciate us, especially those cats who have distinct personal boundaries. It makes the team’s day ( month, year?!) when we get a huge token of appreciation for going above and beyond.

A big thankyou to Vanguard Laundry for their donation of old towels. These will come in very handy for RSPCA Toowoomba and our local wildlife caters. Especially any carers with a chlamydia koala.

Bear with us as we are implementing a new software system. The previous one was over 15 years old and rather clunky. There may be short delays while the old and clunky vets get to grips with newfangled things.

2 corn cob removals in as many weeks! These can cause a classic foreign body - especially the ones from take away places as they are just the right size to be swallowed whole. And often left in public spaces as trash. So please be careful and pick up your rubbish after yourself!

And at the end of a long and stressful day, a bit of puppy love. These fluffy bundles are in for first vaccination and microchip. And they are not stressed at all! But they are for sale if anyone is after some husky loving.

Panda is in such good hands! Carl and Judy are fantastic foster parents, all their charges thrive. Lovely to see Panda doing so well. If you can, consider donating towards his ongoing care at RSPCA Toowoomba. Thanks 7NEWS Toowoomba for highlighting his story.

Couple of abandoned kittens came in today for Angels Rescue Toowoomba. They are healthy enough to go off to a neonate cater but we have e them their first feed. Check out the little ears going and don’t stop till you see the end……it’s hysterical

Happy Australia Day. We spent the day building a rehab centre for the most iconic of Australians- Koalas.

Once they’ve been in care for a while, they need to build up their strength and relearn Koala ways.

Willoughby- a big boy- will be the first to try it out.

While we have provided the space and some old lady girl power, the carer has bought the fencing out of their own pocket. So, if anyone has any 2m old colourbond fencing or temporary fencing they don’t need or can sell cheaply we’d love to hear it. The plan is to have a few of these in one spot, getting more and more challenging.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Australia Day. We are open as usual tomorrow 8-12.

We rely on wonderful volunteers to get animals to and from our surgery. We’ve had to drop from 5 days a week to 4 days because we have no drivers for Friday. This does impact at times, on our ability to offer the standard of care or the service that we strive to offer to RSPCA Toowoomba. It’s not glamorous and sometimes it’s noisy, but if you have a drivers license and spare time please consider. We can help get animals in and out of the van if needed.

🚨🚨HELP NEEDED🚨🚨

Hello Toowoomba community, we need your help!! 🙏

We are desperately on the lookout for volunteer drivers on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 🚐

If you're wondering what being a volunteer driver might entail here's a little insight into what volunteer driver Jack's day looked like today!

✅Watered all our pot plants
✅Put on a couple of loads of washing
✅Loaded up our RSPCA vehicle
✅Dropped 7x cats and kittens to West Toowoomba Vet Surgery
✅Dropped 2x kittens to Petbarn
✅Dropped 5x kittens to RSPCA Op Shops QLD (Toowoomba) in town and picked up donations while he was there
✅Picked up donations from 2x supermarkets
✅Picked up our mail and parcels from our PO Box
✅Dropped off banking and collected change
✅Picked up milk for our staff and volunteers
✅Came back to shelter and sorted and put away all the collected donations
✅Had lunch
✅Drove back into town and dropped off our recycling
✅Picked up 7x cats and kittens from West Toowoomba Vet Surgery
✅Drove back to shelter and helped put the cats and kittens away

We can't even begin to tell you how imporant these jobs are to the daily running of our shelter. We would have been lost without Jack today! Currently three days per week we're needing to send staff offsite for half of their day to run these errands which is less time they're spending with the animals, doing behaviour rehabilitation and training, answering the phones, processing adoptions and everything else in between. It's really tough going! If you think you would like to volunteer in this role please please get in touch with us! 🙏 We think this is an ideal volunteer role for a retiree. You can find more information about the volunteer role here: https://app.betterimpact.com/PublicOrganization/f8c36cfe-ae37-482c-8ee7-4fa82a62afa2/Gvi/a2450173-f200-4874-9641-022d864e5b65/1

While the boss is away, the cat will play. Soraya, our stray kitten is blooming at the surgery. But she is NOT going to be another surgery cat. The boss is 100% adamant about that. But…. What she doesn’t know won’t hurt.
