Mystery snails have a unique breathing system that allows them to breathe both air and water: Gills: Mystery snails have gills that allow them to breathe underwater. Siphon: Mystery snails also have a specialized breathing tube called a siphon that they extend above the water's surface to inhale air. The siphon is located on the left side of the snail's neck, above its head. When not in use, the siphon is barely visible, but when needed, the muscles in the fold contract to create a flexible tube. Mystery snails can survive in low-oxygen environments, such as murky waters or when the water quality in their tank is poor. They can also breathe while out of water. When they hold air in their lungs, they float, and when they release the air, they drop to the ground

Just arrived. Western Pygmy Perch. They thrive in heavily vegetated areas in a fish tank or a pond. They are also tadpole friendly, making them ideal for an ecosystem pond shared by othwr inhabitants. Pygmy perch are not aggressive and are suitable in fish communities.
