We are deeply saddened by the loss of Dr Kristie Remmert, Veterinary Director located at our Greencross Vets clinic in Deeragun, Townsville who passed away on Sunday 28 January.
In memory of Kristie, we honour a life dedicated to the love and care of animals. Her passing leaves a void in the veterinary community, marked by the loss of someone whose dedication to animals transcended her professional duties.

Kristie joined Greencross in May of 2020 as a new Graduate at Greencross Willows and Aitkenvale, in Townsville. She then spent a significant amount of time, working at Greencross Maitland where she was a key member of the team and community. In 2023 she then returned to Townsville joining the Deeragun team. Kristie has been an outstanding veterinarian across her entire tenure at Greencross, receiving the “Veterinarian Associate of the Year – North Queensland” in August of 2023, which led to her accelerated career progression and appointment of Vet Director of Deeragun in August 2023.

Our deepest condolences extend to Kristie's family and friends, and to the entire Greencross Vets team, who have all been informed and are receiving the support they need during this difficult time.
In these challenging moments, we encourage anyone in need of support, both within and outside the veterinary community, to reach out. Lifeline can be contacted at 13 11 14, and for our veterinary colleagues, the Australian Veterinary Association counselling support is available at 1300 687 327.
