WHY
Your poultry, our passion.
We love our chickens and we want more people to enjoy keeping backyard poultry.
Keeping chooks is so much fun and we passionately believe in the importance of owning your food supply β the healthy eggs from our chooks help us do that, in a small way.
HOW
We know that keeping chickens can feel overwhelming β it can be expensive, a lot of work, and it can be hard to know how to go about things. We donβt want new poultry keepers to experience the same problems we did, so we are dedicated to sharing our knowledge and experience. We learned a lot the hard way so that you donβt have to.
WHAT
We are dedicated to providing backyard poultry keepers with solutions. These solutions take the form of information and advice provided on our website and through our personalized service. We deliver with our top-quality, Australian-made Chicken Feeders and Drinkers that we designed to solve the problems of common feeders and make keeping chickens easier. We also stock a range of poultry products that we have tried and tested, and that we know can make a difference for a backyard chicken keeper.
Mission Statement
At Dine a Chook, your poultry is our passion. We are chicken keepers too, and know how much waste, mess and hassle backyard poultry can cause. That is why we have spent years developing better ways to rear happy, healthy chooks. But we donβt want to keep our hard-earned knowledge to ourselves! We want to use it to improve the lives of poultry keepers everywhere! Our top-quality Chicken Feeders, Drinkers and poultry products provide value to our customers and come with the personalized service that only a family-owned and βrun company can provide.
About Us
Before we were a company, we were backyard chicken keepers. We bought the birds to produce fresh eggs, but no one had told us about the downside to keeping poultry: the wasted feed, the rodents it attracts and rain getting into the feeder.
In frustration, we were considering giving our chickens up when my father convinced me that our problems were solvable β with the right feeder. After trying almost every option on the market, we started making our own. And many prototypes later, we ended up with the Dine a Chook. It works, it is virtually indestructible, it is cost effective and 99% of the feed you put into it goes to your chooks. Over the past 8 years, our unique purpose-built feeder has taken us from our back shed to a company providing local jobs with distributors in 3 countries.
