Last week Dr Katrin & Nurse Leia helped Honey the chicken.
Honey came in with a blocked crop which was very uncomfortable for her.
Blocked crops can occur when foreign objects or food become lodged in the crop, a pouch in the oesophagus that stores food temporarily.
The blockage prevents food from passing through to digestion which can cause health problems.
Luckily for Honey the girls were able to flush the crop and bring her back to full health.
Her family were so thankful they sent in a beautiful card & care package β€οΈπŸ“ Thank you.

Winnie the beautiful little kitten came in earlier this week for being lame and very sore in the leg.
After taking xrays you can see why.
Winne broke her leg, but luckily for her its not displaced and with a few weeks in a cast and bandage she should heal up fine.
Winnie was so relaxed while having her bandage put on that she fell asleep in our nurses hands. πŸ₯°πŸˆπŸ±

WHY DO WE DO URINE TESTING? πŸˆπŸ•

Urine tests are a key diagnostic tool used to determine some causes for urinary diseases.
Most common cause for blood in urine or frequent need to urinate in some pets are a urinary tract infection (bacteria in urine), crystalluria (crystals in urine) and cystitis (inflammation).
Our urine tests include microscopic examination, USG testing and dipstick analysis.
On microscopic examination crystals, bacteria and blood are readily visible (as seen in these photos). A urine dipstick also allows us to see if there are changes in the pH, glucose and ketones in the urine.
All this information is crucial to diagnose the issue the pet is having and allows us to determine the best course of treatment.

Introducing Dr Eliya.
A few of you may have had the pleasure of meeting her over the last few weeks.
Eliya is the newest Vet to join our team, she may be a new graduate now, but she has lots of knowledge already.
Eliya is very excited to treat all of your pets and is loving learning all there is to know about the large animal world.
Pictured is Dr Eliya out in the field with Garth helping with her first calving.
The smile says it all.
We can not wait to see what she can achieve, welcome to the team! πŸ₯°πŸ•πŸˆπŸ„πŸƒπŸ‘πŸ

Today is a happy day & a sad day as we farewell one of our Amazing vets.
Dr Georgia leaves us today to go on to new adventures with an internship at a specialist in Melbourne.
She came to us 4 years ago as a new graduate fresh out of uni.
Today she leaves us as a confident, experienced, well rounded vet.
We wish her all the best in her future endeavours and she will be greatly missed at TVC.
Good luck Georgia and Thankyou for all you have done for us and your clients over the years ❀️
