Knowing when a pineapple is perfectly ripe can be tricky, but here's a quick guide I found to help you enjoy it at its best.

Look how irresistible our strawberries were this week 😍
This is the tray that I bought for my household that arrived on TUESDAY and today is Thursday and they are already almost gone 🤭
Ive bought a half tray each week for the last 2 weeks for $18/half tray (9 punnets)
That works out to be $2 per punnet! How can one resist at that price!!

Like so many Box Divvy hubs, our hub loves to minimise waste, and reduce packaging. We pack orders into produce boxes, then members return them for reuse - by our hub again, or the warehouse, and in turn other hubs.
..so it was delightful to find this message at the bottom of one of our boxes in today's delivery! What a lovely confirmation that others are doing the same 😄

🌿 Let’s talk reusable packaging while we have some NEW items in the Box Divvy Marketplace! 🌿

I’ve had two of these calico rice bags for years – and they’re still going strong!
Instead of tossing them out, here are a few creative ways to give them a second life:

🍴 In the Kitchen

• Labneh or cheese making...line the bag with a clean tea towel (or use it directly) to strain yoghurt into creamy labneh or for nut milks.
• Herb drying...pop washed herbs inside and hang in a dry spot so air circulates while catching any leaves.
• Bread storage...keeps loaves and rolls fresh without making them soggy.

🏡 Around the Home

• Produce bag...store potatoes, onions or garlic to keep them cool and dark.
• Compost scrap holder...hang on a hook to collect veggie scraps before they head to the compost.

✨ Tip: Give the bags a good wash in hot water and dry thoroughly before using for anything food-related.

🍐🍋𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀...
Good news on the price front this week: berries are the standout. If the weather holds in Bundaberg, strawberries should stay at $2.50 per punnet - or $18 per half tray (nine punnets, $2 each). Blueberries have softened to $3.48 per punnet, so it’s a good time to stock up.

Beyond berries, mangoes are holding steady at under $4 each. Apples and pears are starting to lift in price, and citrus is gradually winding down for the season, with mandarins, navel oranges and blood oranges set to finish over the coming weeks - grab them while they’re still at their best.

Vegetables are mostly well priced this week. The exception is potatoes: they’re between seasons and scarce, sitting at about double the usual price; new-season spuds should arrive in November. Leafy greens and shallots are a bit elevated after recent weather, while Victorian Asian greens and herbs are still coming through strongly.

Cucumbers, lettuce, capsicum, broccoli, cabbage, beans, avocados and sugar snaps are abundant, and corn has dropped to $1.40 per cob. If you’re after ideas, we’ve pulled together some quick recipes to make the most of this week’s seasonal produce.

This week's "NEW & NEW in Season" at Box Divvy post.

Definitely grabbing a couple of the Riviana Basmati Rice at that price! See my earlier posts for bag reuse ideas!

I can highly recommend these pegs, we use them in our household and have been for ages!! We also use them here at box divvy Tullimbar for our pegs to peg the order forms onto our boxes, how cool is that!!

I've been using marine grade stainless steel pegs for a while now. No more pegs drying out or breaking. Can highly recommend 👌

Now available at you know where 🤭
