This is a meme to raise awareness. We see and hear terrible things daily and we DO understand some people have legit reasons ie financial or landlord but would you rehome your child?

LET THIS SINK IN ~

If the place you're renting doesn't allow dogs ~ find another place that does.

If your boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't like your dog ~ find another boyfriend or girlfriend.

If you're moving out of state ~ be as loyal to your dog as he has been to you. Take him along with you.

If you're not willing to commit to a dog for ALL of his life ~ DON'T GET A DOG.

If you STILL refuse to make it work ~ have the decency to reach out to a reputable rescue to intake your family .. their life depends on it. Literally.

Jodan Peterson describes the "positive only" and "force free" ideologues to a tee in his quote. Those 2 training ideologies are nothing more than feelings (emotion) based, and refusing to accept the full science behind learning theory that has been around since life began on this planet.

I don't have issue if these ideologues wish to believe their emotion based ideology, not at all. But when its not working or being effective, stop letting our dogs suffer because of it. Accept, that maybe in this particular case, the dog needs a more open approach to training or behaviour modification. Stop suggesting to clients that obviously your dog has a chemical imbalance in the brain, so needs to be medicated or PTS, because your methods are failing the dog. Or informing clients that the only option for the dog is to try and manage the behaviour. As an example, make sure you don't walk your reactive dog anywhere near other dogs.

Does a more open approach to training and behaviour modification absolutely guarantee results 100% of the time? No of course not. But the success rate is very, VERY much higher than an ideology based purely on feelings, and not based on full learning theory science.

Don't fall for half the science!!
