This might look like a messy unstructured walk, but Kiko used to be 90% timid and frightened of everything around her, not showing any interest in exploring and sniffing in a fun and healthy way. Now, 6 months later and many uneventful, calm and reassuring walks, she's 80% a happy and brave dog. There's only a few times and known triggers when she's still scared, but there will be many more walks to bring back her old self ๐๐ช

Redirect the hunting drive to something he/she is ALLOW3E chase: like a toy! This way he/she still gets the satisfaction of chasing and you can have a great way to recall, focus back to you and general exercise.
Just be aware to build that interest and value in the new toy, it wound have the same value as an actual bird. But when the dog learns that it's OK and FUN to chase the toy IN YOUR hand, and not the bird/ bike etc he will soon be much more interested in staying with you ๐
