Mornington Moggie Rescue We are a cat rescue on the Mornington Peninsula specialising in rescuing abandoned kittens & mum cats. We are a non for profit rescue, run by volunteers.

Acc 10477045 MMR is located in Tyabb, we are a kitten and mum cat rescue. All cats and kittens that come through our doors are looked after by one of our foster carers until they are ready for their forever homes. All of our cats and kittens go to their new homes, desexed, microchipped and at least one vaccination.

Update on Skip!
Skip has turned into a beautiful boy and won so many hearts along his journey!
Skip left home yesterday with his bags packed to start his new chapter of life with his forever family!

Sometimes our rescues aren’t friendly, they don’t want the fluffy blankets and soft beds when they come into care. These scared ones have gravitated to a cardboard box.
The beautiful girl on her own is unsure about how to take being pat and looked after! She has made sure her foster carer knows boundaries and that she stick to them!
The two boys are a little more trusting! Especially the black kitten! Once he discovers a chin scratch or pat is great! You become his best friend, he struts about and instead of a tail in the air, his tail lays flat on his back when he is happy!!
Tabby boy is unsure of his new feelings, he enjoys a chin scratch and a cuddle but will scoot back to the safety of his box!
We can’t wait to see these 3 learn love and trust people. This will take time to undo what they have endured out on the streets! People have let them down and now we need to prove to them we won’t give up!

12 year old Queenie had found herself alone and in the pound when her world was turned upside down when her person passed away. This sweet girl captured our hearts and we felt she needed to be out of a pound environment and in a home with a foster carer.
We know her road will be a long one as she also comes with a medical estimate to have a suspected tumour removed. 5cm mass to be removed from the left side of her chest.

If you are in the position to donate the cost of a coffee we would be grateful! This could be the end of her medical issue or just the beginning and we won’t leave Queenie behind and we will seek the care and treatment she deserves.

This is the hard truth!

Kittens as young as 4 months can become pregnant to their brothers, father and or any other stray male hanging about!

As a rescue, this is one of the hardest parts, trying to keep up with the ones born and the ones yet to be born!

Nearly every great rescue in Victoria offers a Last Litter Program, which assists in desexing your mum cat for FREE and dad if known, on the surrender of ALL of the kittens into rescue. This helps stop the cycle.

If you have an unspayed female cat but no kittens, reach out to rescue and see if they offer a discounted rate to have her spayed. You maybe surprised with the response! Although if offered there will be limited places.

Looking for a simple way to help the cats and kittens in care? One that doesn’t cost money or time. How about donating your cans and bottles to Mornington Moggie Rescue?
It’s simple. There are 2 ways you can do this.
Simply send us a message to come and collect when you have at least 1 bag full. We will send one of our wonderful volunteers to swing past and collect.
Second way to do so, is head on into the CDS centres and cash in your cans and bottles, using our barcode or unique Partner ID the donation comes directly to us!

Day 14: Mouse and Snowbell such precious little beans! Life hasn’t been too kind to these little ones. Abandoned and orphaned at 2 days old, found rescue at 4 days old. Snowbell has an eye infection and diarrhoea, which at this age and size is extremely dangerous ground to be treading on! While we have been managing the diarrhoea, the eye infection seems to be a little more stubborn! Mouse is doing well but cries when his brother isn’t close by! Such a sweet little duo!
