I am so proud of Sq**rt and Busy.

On a sad note, I lost my cheeky boy SmartiePantz in April and my beautiful girl Blitz in September. Blitz was 17yrs old and up until her last few days, she was still living life full pace like she always did. She was amazing at agility and I still miss competing with her. I am so grateful that she came into my life and for the exciting ride that she took me on.

The 2022 NSW State Agility Titles was held on the weekend.

A huge Congratulations goes to the Dogs NSW Agility Committee for all their hard work preparing and running this huge event. Despite rain causing a change of venue and then raining heavy on both days, all I saw was smiles from all involved 👏
Also a big thanks to all the judges who came from far and wide (NZ & Vic) I loved all of your courses I ran, I’m just sorry that you had to stand out in the rain both days.

On Saturday there were 2 heats of Agility and 2 heats of Jumping and a certain number of qualifying rounds from each height category went into the finals that ran on Sunday.

I ran Busy, Sq**rt and Sparky all weekend and they were amazing. We had some hits and misses but every run was so awesome by all of them and we managed to qualify for 5 of the 6 finals. Unfortunately we bombed in 4 of them but Sq**rt managed to save the day and is now the State Champion JDM 200. I also came away with 8 quallies.

Lastly congratulations to all of the competitors that went out and achieved their goals with their dogs whatever that may have been. Some of our best runs aren’t necessarily the clean fast ones but the ones that you successfully nailed something you had been working hard on in training.

Unfortunately, another trial has been cancelled this Saturday due to rain sodden grounds.

Our training field is still holding up well so if anyone would like to have a play, I am going to set up a Jumping course on Saturday (6/8) and have the contact obstacles separate for people to train at their leasure.

It will be 2pm-4pm, max 10 dogs, $20 per dog.

I also have one 1 hour Private Lesson slot in the morning available at 11.30am, $50, max 2 people

We have been very fortunate that our agility field has not suffered with all this rain that we have had.

So, if anybody would like to put their dog over some obstacles this Saturday (9/7) I will be setting up a jumping course to run and have the contact obstacles separate.

It will be 1pm-3pm, max 10 dogs, $20 per dog.

I will also have some 1 hour Private Lesson slots available in the morning, $50ph, max 2 people.

For my agility friends, Elicia Calhoun is coming to Sydney in late August.

I have been a fan of Elicia’s for over 20 years, she really adds heart to agility training and I love her style. Before she even gets here, she wants to get to know us and our dogs with a questionnaire and group zoom calls, I love this idea.

We are asking for expressions of interest for an "experience" which is more than just a seminar with Elicia Calhoun from USA (see her website for more details on her https://www.eliciacalhoun.com/Meet_Elicia

This will be Elicia's first trip back to Australia in over 10 years so she is offering a difference to the normal seminars we have. Details of what is proposed is on the form below.
We are just securing venues so please note we are doing both Sydney and the Hunter area and once the venues/costs are finalised we will be offering the people who have expressed interest first chance at the working spots before advertising again. As we already have interest days are filling fast. If you are interested, please don't wait as it is not locking you in to anything just giving you the chance to be part of this amazing experience if you want.

Blitz Agility Training in the Southern Highlands will be up and running from the first week in July 2022.

I will be running group classes as well as private lessons, mainly on a Wednesday and Thursday during the day but other days and times can be arranged by appointment.

Private Lessons: $50 per hour, max 2 people
A Group Class will start Thursday 7th July 2022 at 3.30pm : 4 weeks for $100 per person ($25pw), max 5 in group for appx 1.5hrs depending on the numbers in the class.

If I get more interest in Group Classes, I will designate another time slot as required depending on what people want. When it gets lighter later, I will also be doing evening classes. We have lights but they don’t cover the whole field so at the moment, if anyone wants to come in the evening we can only use a small part of the field with a limited amount of obstacles.

🎈 HAPPY SWEET 16 TO BLITZ 🎈

She celebrated by having a bunch of great friends over to run her first ever Novice Agility course from a Trial back in March 2008.

Loyd cooked bacon and egg rolls and I made muffins for the first time in my life (for the dogs of course)

Thanks to everyone for sharing this very special day with us.
